I wish I had the time frame that all of you brides have. I just started planning in the end of September, 2007 for a July, 2008 wedding. So, as far as vendors go, I had to book immediately, especially for a summer wedding. My dj is Finer Touch Entertainment. I picked the package with the video montage, lighting, ceremony music, dj/mc, etc. I think it would make for a more exciting wedding day. I have all of my vendors, but my main focus right now is paying for the RH and the dj.
Those are the two most important things that will make or break your special day. We love food and music! I don't think anyone will remember if I had the satin or poplin napkins. (I rented poplin, by the way, if anyone cares)! lol
I am working on the 'small' things now. (I have yet to encounter a 'small' task in the planning stages). But anyway, I am doing cd's and photo coasters, which match my color. I am doing my own cake topper and We Do letters. I am working on my menus, but I know I am going to be asking a LIWedding bride for some assistance soon. It seems that I can come up with DIY's for other people's events, but for mine, it just doesn't seem good enough. Enjft, since you offered, how about a little help with those fabulous drink menus? FM me if you read this.![]()
Does anyone have a master list of wedding to-dos?![]()

You guys making me blush. Thanks so much for the compliments, it still means the world to me.
I have a pic of my broom in my review. We just brought the broom, ribbon and flowers from Michaels and designed away.
Shoot me an FM with your drink menu items and I'll hook you up!

Re: ***Official African American Brides Thread***
I think you do have one of the most memorable weddings on LiWedding enjft! I showed your wedding review to my maid of honor and she was so impressed. Not realizing that when she came to my house a week later, I showed it to her again. lol She was like, 'Um, you showed me this already.' And I replied, ' and I am going to show it to you again the next time you come!' hahahaWell, my wedding colors are Tiffany blue, ivory, and platinum, so my drink menu should probably consist of Blue Martinis, Blue Hawaiian daquiris. FH name is Mark, so I was thinking something on the line of a Blue-'Mark' tini.

I have my dress sitting in my moms closet too, I'm kind of worried about it sitting there for the hot summer so I might pay to put it in a cool storage place.

Re: ***Official African American Brides Thread***
I am using them! I haven't heard them live but the Queen of LIW 'Enjft' used them (and my mom heard them at a bridal show) so I booked them too! lol. I would give them a call and go and meet with Frank. I am a native new yorker but I'm currently out-of-state so I am doing all this on faith!Welcome New Vendors
