Ladies I have a problem my aunt suggested that me and FH go to city hall to get married all b/c we are moving in together. She said I should do it for security more than morals {b/c she is a christian}
She also said we should continue planning the wedding but things could happen with a 1 1/2. What do you ladies think and is any1 married by paper and is planning their wedding at a later date? What should I do?

FH & I live together- basically you have to do what you feel is right for you. Family can be so over powering at times- they mean well but you do what you feel is right. It will work itself out... be encouraged girl!!!

Hey ladies! Jeanine here!

It's cool to see that there are lots of caribbean ladies on here as well.

I'm Panamanian & FH is Guyanese!

I'll have to log into my other computer to get a picture of FH and I.

Welcome JP!

My FI and I just moved in together and we are in the process of buying our first home before we are married. My mother may she RIP was an Evangelist and FI father is a Minister. FI and I are both Christian but this was the best situation for US. We did not want to do the CITY HALL thing and we knew we wanted a WEDDING where our families would have a good time. My mother always taught me that you only have to answer to GOD so follow your heart and dont worry about what other people say.

Okay Ladies:

What do you think looks better on women of color, a WHITE or IVORY wedding gown? Do you think either color is okay? What color do you plan to wear for your BIG day?

I had the same question myself! I really like a dress that is white and I saw the same one in ivory and didn't feel it as much. But then I thought 'would the ivory look better with my skin tone'?!

Re: ***Official African American Brides Thread***

Ladies in bridal salons urge that if you are a browner shade like myself, white is better.

Someone lighter like Cheresse would look excellent in ivory.

I love the first gown. It is so unique!

I am wearing diamond white.

OK WHERE is everyone getting their WEDDING GOWN? Can any of the 07' Girls recommend places for us Rookies? How was your experience? How far in advance did you go? Did you go in the city or on LI?
