Can I tell you how Cake Man raven wants 60 bucks for a consultation he ll no!
My color scheme is red and white with lots of bling.
Now don't get me wrong, his Red Velvet Cake is off the hook but $60 for a consultation that is ridiculous.![]()
My girlfriend tried to get CakeMan Raven to do her cake but they never got back to her. I agree about the $60 consultation for a cake.

Hey Christina!
I was actually talking about the west indian black cake. I plan on making it one of my favors.
As far as the wedding cake it will be red velvet to follow through with my theme.
Did everyone have a chance to see my bio?
I was referring to the same cake too... your mom doesn't put rum in it? now you got me thinking.. maybe I should do it too?? i gotta represent my roots and culture!![]()
I have this phobia about losing my balance when I jump.
Gotta have lots of rum!
Anyone jumping the broom?
I WANT TO !!![]()

Okay Ladies:
What do you think looks better on women of color, a WHITE or IVORY wedding gown? Do you think either color is okay? What color do you plan to wear for your BIG day?

Re: ***Official African American Brides Thread***
Ladies,Why did you choose the venue that you chose for your wedding? Was it a difficult decision or did you just know from the moment you walked in?
*****************************************************
At first I was sure I was going to book with Chateau La Mer, I fell in love with the water view and I really loved LOU and his staff. But the moment I walked into the Swan Club a feeling came over me and I just knew this was the place that would go perfect with my ROMANCE theme...

Re: ***Official African American Brides Thread***
I visited both places, I visited Chateau La Mer first and fell in love with it right away. It was everything I wanted, from the location to the price. I fell in love.I visited Swan club a week later and fell in love again. so confused, I couldn't make my choice, Swan Club is absolutely beautiful, especially the outside. but the room they had for my wedding was ugly. Thank god the make the choice easier for me.
So we went with Chateau La Mer and I am very happy with them so far. We went to the food tasting and the food was delicious.
Any other CLM brides here?

Hi all:The place I originally wanted was the Venetian Yacht Club but they had too much going on for the day of my wedding and also booked. I was even considering changing my date to have it there, but I said forget it because I wanted to be the only bride at that location. Then I found my hall, which is close to home and just beautifl.

Hi Nikki!
...to answer the previous question... still hall hunting!
You know what would be the ideal place!!!???
A GOOD Caribbean hall!!! When we first got engaged, I was so frustrated that there seemed to be NO PLACE with Caribbean catering!
FH and I want all that good stuff on our day... oxtail, rice and peas, cadimanola (sp?), ohalda (Panamanian), roti... it's what we're used to and what our families would enjoy! LoL I'd definitely prefer that over some Cordon Bleu

Too bad there aren't any good halls like that out there (as far as I know).
