Her website is http://miafarahbeautique.com/You can find tons of information there including her prices and pics of clients hair and make up. She also has tons of reviews on liweddings. My wedding planner reccomended her to me and I think it was a great find!
Hope this helps!!

Re: Official African American Brides Thread
I was at the JT bridal showcase and spoke to A soft touch by maria. She told me her price was $175 for the day of (including airbrush) and $85 for Bm (party of 5 +). Her pics were really nice, they had many AA brides and the trial price was $60 (OR $65 I can't recall). She was pretty nice as well. I will let you ladies know how it goes, I'm thinking of doing a trial in July (same weather for my wedding), plus I have a wedding to go to at the CHCH

Re: Official African American Brides Thread
I saw a recommendation for a stylist named Niquel in Forest HIlls queens. Has anyone been to her before?Anddddd has anyone tried the Phytospecific relaxer. I usually do the keratin treatment in my hair and she said to stop and they photospecific was similar to the keratin minus the formaldhyde.

Hi Ladies!!!I was thinking that we should try to start a list of the makeup artist/ hair stylist that we are going to use or considering to use on our big days!
I'm looking into M@I@A for makeup. I'm still on the hunt for a beautician...any recommendations?
Who's next?

Well I liked certain parts and not others. I do not wear alot of makeup especially foundation..so not sure if it seems alot because of this or not. I am a mascara and lipgloss and bronzer type of girl.
I liked the eyeshadow, and my cheeks, but I felt the airbrushing was too much, and it was much lighter than the rest of my body(which my mom pointed out...couldn't tell that just looking in the mirror). I also thought the eyeliner was too much and, and I prefer my mascara to hers or the way it was applied. I mean it was nice.....but I guess I can compare more once I have another trial elsewhere and see the difference. If it was the application or me not being used to wearing makeup.

i dont wear much make up either, i am pretty simple. You right another trial with a different person will set the difference. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Official African American Brides Thread
Hi Ladies! I had two makeup trials so far. The first one was with Natasha Denis. I loved how the airbrush makeup looked but wasn't satisfied with the total outcome. It didn't look like me at all! My second trial was with Charlene of About Face. I told her exactly what I wanted and she nailed it!! I am booking her for day of makeup for my bridesmaids and I.I am going to my usual stylist for hair. She is a celebrity stylist and regularly treats my hair so I rather go to her. She is fantastic and travels to also do hair for celebrities. I am in the process of booking a trial with her and will post pics after. If anyone would like her info FM me.

Definitely do a second trial with someone else. I was a little unsure after my first trial but I did a second trial with About Face and the artist made me look so beautiful!

Re: Official African American Brides Thread
Ok so finalllllyyy got home from my hair day long trial with Niquel. lol.She put hair in for me and I did makeup so it took awhile. Pics are in my album.
My album
So here is what I think of it. I really liked this trial. I didn't feel like my makeup was caked on. But certain things he would have to do darker so you can actually notice it is there. I am not a hugeeee makeup person so it is not over the top and I like that. She has a makeup artist come in and do it.
Niquel is a sweetheart! I love how the back curls came out. The front needs some work. I like how the one side with my swooped bang looks but not the other. Part of the reason is since the hair was just put in, it is stiff and not easy to lay flat, so that is part of the problem. But overall I like it, and know she would work out the front and make it look picture perfect that day. Since she just charges to style it, and not a typical trial price then I may go back again for a wash and blow and do another run at it to get it perfect.
I want one other place to go for a trial to compare, but she is for sure in the running! I will be going back there to get hair in even if I do not choose her for my wedding day stylist.
