So, going to the tea party tomorrow - anyone else? What do we do at the tea party and how is it different from the bridal showcase?? I'm planning on going to both so want to make sure I'm not going for the same thing twice. Thanks.

I'm going to the tea party tonight. If anyone is not able to make it and has any questions or wants some additional info, I can find out for you. Let me know. Who's definitely going tonight?

the tea party is just there to help you go over the whole wedding planning process. They will give you a folder of information of vendors and what not. it is very helpful. Plus since you are getting married there you can have the girls at PWP help you out with looking for vendors. the showcase will be more of a display of vendors.

Yay, I'm excited to get started with the vendors and stuff. Has anybody booked their church yet? Since our reception starts at 8, we can't get married at our regular Catholic Church because the ceremonies are at 2:30 the latest on Saturday's. I don't want our guests waiting so long. Now we're looking for a nice Episcopal Church that isn't too far away because they are more lenient with time. Thanks girls!
We are getting married at a Catholic church our mass is at 330 on a Saturday and our CH doesnt start till 730.

Thanks, I think we are actually able to work out our church. They can do a 6:15 ceremony and then our CH is at 8, which would be perfect so the guests don't have to wait much in between.

I went to the tea party yesterday. It was a lot of fun, they gave us a lot of inofrmation for vendors and planning and such. Definitely recommend anyone that is at Chateau Briand and Fox Hollow to go - worth your time. Let me know if you have any questions. Saw a lot of girls last night, not sure if any of them were from here.

if you've done uplighting in the saturnia room what color did you use? im not sure what color would show because the room has suck dark wood tones.
Our DJ is going to do a soft amber color for the uplighting, HTH
ETA: like another poster said, in the Saturnia there's not a lot of places to do uplighting, other than behind the sweetheart table, the DJ is throwing it in for free since it's only a couple of lights, I would talk to your DJ's to see if you can negotiate it into the package.

Our wedding is a Saturday evening also, CH starts at 7:30pm, church is at 5:30pm, we're doing a full mass so church will be over at 6:30pm and then with travelling, guests won't get to CB until about 7:15 or so. I would see if you can find another church. You should be able to find another church that will do a later ceremony. My church is in Bay Shore (it's our regular church). FM me if you want the info, not sure if it's too far east for you.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Hope to see some people there tomorrow.
In regards to the church, our church was actually able to do a 6:15 ceremony, which is sooo perfect. We'll probably be done and on our way to the reception by 7:00, which will give us some time for pics. The guests won't really have to wait, so now I can relax about that. Whew, 1 less thing to worry about.

Did you girls get your directions cards from Chateau yet? Are you using them? The only problem I see with them is that they have the Fox Hollow Inn on the back, which is probably not the hotel we will be using. We will use the Holiday Inn next door. Not sure what to do - maybe they have ones without Fox Hollow Inn on the back.
