Hi Ladies, I want to start this thread so we can talk about DeSeversky and share thoughts and ideas. I know there are 2 others getting married at DeSeversky so far.

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
Hi, Just checking in!! How are things going? I have not been on the site in forever!!
We just had our tasting and we are just trying to decide what rooms we will use for what - not an easy decision for us!!
Make it 3! I am getting married there this March--I am not sure who is more excited-me or my photographer! It was so much fun-telling vendors were it was--my florist loves the place too--looking forward to sharing ideas--curious if you guys are decorating the fireplaces or the sconces in the main room & if you think it is worth the ex $?

I think the pictures are going to be gorgeous. There are so many great places to take pictures! I am decorating the fireplaces. They will have red roses, red petals and pilar candles. What do your centerpieces look like?

I am doing all white centerpieces-can't decide whether high or low--I wanted to decorate the top of the fireplaces w/Candles-but last visit there-they said no more candles on top--I was thinking of filling the inside of the fireplaces w/candles & putting greens on top-my florist suggested eucalyptus leaves--he also sggested to put the same hangin down from the sconces in the main room-there are 20--I do not want to forget to hang something on the front door-like a heart wreath wrapped in flowers--the pictures I think are going to look great are the ones on the staircase....

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
thanks for posting the pics--couldn't open the second one-think I have to download something to view it on my computer-do you have any suggestions about setting up the rooms for cocktails? I want to find out if they have hi&low cocktail tables so they could be spread around & not sure how to deal w/music in 2 sep rooms-I knew this was going to be a challenge-but I am sure we can figure something out-I am going to have live music throughout the cocktails-split them up I guess-I wanted to use the piano-but who knows if it is in tune & kind of weird that it is out by the bathroom......

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
I think you need to have shockwave or flash installed. It is a free plugin. The pictures are so great. I love looking at pictures from De Seversky. Yeah I was going to either get a piano player or a harpist for cocktail hour. Still have not decided. Last time I went the piano was in the corner in the red room.

If you put the piano in the red room --which is better than in front of the bathroom--what music will you have for the other room? When do you think they tuned the piano last? afraid to ask.....I left 3 messages for the chef-still no reply...wish they returned calls sooner

I am using the red room and solarium for cocktail hour so I think the sound will carry through. You are having the wedding in the solarium so you are having cocktails in the library (pink room) right? Maybe put a pianist in the corner of the pink room but the electric pianos and not the baby grand. Not sure when they tuned it. Called Pilar or Debbie to find out. What are you going to ask the chef?
What kind of cake are you having?

Here is the cake I want with a chocolate cake/chocolate ganache filling. YUM!
I LOVE YOUR CAKE--can I use it too?? I met the pastry guy at his bakery-seems nice enough-have you met him? The place is called Leonetti's on Glen Cove Rd--you can bring him the picture to make sure he can do it-- Do you know if there are any luncheons coming up at de Seversky-for Valentines maybe?

Of course you can. I love it too so much. I thought it was very pretty. It is from another bride on here. I saw it and knew it was perfect.
I just called De Seversky and spoke to Pilar and there is a Valentine's brunch coming up and a 4 course wine dinner. I went to the Valentine's brunch last year and it was amazing. That is when I fell in love with the place. I want to go back this year. She is sending me the list of events. Call and put yourself on the mailing list.

I have to say Pilar is so friendly and helpful. She is a wonderful banquet manager. I call her and ask her questions all the time and she is so patient and helpful. I love that place!
