Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

I'm really annoyed now that Chad said we couldn't have a tasting. It seems like everyone has Mike Closs...maybe I should switch. Do they have two bridal suites? because if there are two of us we aren't all going to fit in that room? I was told that if we have one of their house photographers we get priority when taking pictures....maybe that is why you had trouble when you were trying to take pics? I feel like I should call and complain about the tasting....what do you think?

I used fine art as my photographer and Jimmy (my photographer) was super aggressive. I think they are a recommended vendor. But, I didn't recall any problems during our picture taking at JT. We got all the shots we needed with no interference...thank god!!!

Yes. I believe each bride gets there own suite. I did!! That's what you are asking right?

I would def. complain about the tasting..and TALK TO MIKE. He is great. In addition to the tasting, when I went there to pay my final payment...my dad and I were sitting in the office for a while, so he had told the waiter to bring in food while we were waiting...he brought in antipasta, hot seafood, pasta, etc..I couldn't believe it..

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Yes definitely call back and ask for a tasting. Each bride has their own suite, We passed several brides when we got there. One who their party just ended and another whose hadn't started yet. As a matter of fact, when we payed our final payment there was another bride there and we were getting married on the same day. Her and I started talking and we were both fuming mad when we 'thought' we had the same start time. This wasn't true, her ceremony (as in she got married there) started at 7:30 and my CH started at 7:30. I did see her taking pics when I got there, but she wasn't anywhere to interfere with ours.
Our photographer was also aggressive and started setting up outside to get the pics while the sun was setting.

Hey girls, I just booked Pedestals tonight for my florist. Robert gave us a really great deal with centerpieces that we fell in love with. Is anyone else using them?

I booked with Pedestals also. They really helped me stay within my budget with centerpieces. Since my reception is during the day, I didn't have to worry about those high centerpieces that are a little more costly. I used Jay Ellis. He was great.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

thats funny because i just went there the other night and mike closs said that that bar where people wait before the wedding was free, Shady

Also I just recently just visited JT last night with my mother on a whim and fell in love with it, my fiance went later on in the night and said he liked cresthollow better, has anyone seen both and what is your opinion.

Mine is i do not want it anywhere else but Jericho Terrace can't get anybetter then that place, elegent, classy, clean, every one raves about the food and who takes you into their kitchen.

Brides give me advice I'm trying to convice him the Jericho is amazing

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Hi fellow JT brides!
I just wanted to 'peek' in since I am new to LIweddings...I am almost always on the knot but came in here today looking for info on photo/video. It never ends!

We booked JT almost a month ago and they are by far my favorite vendor...Mike is our BM and he is just awesome at answering my questions (and I have a LOT!). I think I call him at least once a week and he is always patient and kind. Love that!

If anyone has feedback on Bliss, Duet, L. John Morelli, Fine Art, Images Forever or Twelfth Night please FM me or reply. I am desperate and running out of time (at least in my mind!).

Best wishes and happy planning,
Sasha

When we were looking at halls, FH liked Leonards, until we pulled into JT...as soon as we pulled into the parking lot, he said 'I like this place better already' Then he fell in love with the Done Room, so, we are in the Dome Room.

As for Crest Hollow, I saw both and JT is better by far! Fo rme, CH was TOO many weddings/parties at one time. Plus if you have a wedding in the summer and it starts before 5pm, your guests will get to see the Country Club guests! Nice, but TOO much at one time for me.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Any December Brides who would like to share what they got and the price they were quoted at JT...

We went on Friday and spoke with someone else (my second BM) and we had issues again...

Tasting- We got some CH food and then we got pasta. We got chicken for the dinner. We all got the chicken 6 of us... so we all tasted the same thing. My FFIL was like thats not right but didnt say anything when we were there.......

BM- Well my FMIL and FFIL were negotating price and said that there daughter just got married at Crest Hallow and the BM rolled his eyes... big mistake because thats where they just spent 30,000 bucks and made them feel crappy!

Ok...
Then we were like can we negotiate the price 5 bucks.. it would have just made everyone happier if they would have just gone down a bit... but he said there was no way..

He came back with throwing in a mini V but I dont want that at all... I was glad there was no V hour... its such a waste to me...

Now I dont know what to do... My fiance and I love the place... but all of these issues arent making it any easier for us to book :(

Id love to know what other december brides are paying and getting... so maybe I can have some leverage in negotiating... Like if you cant cut the price down, maybe an extra hour or maybe the chair covers and bows or something.....

Any help would be appreciative... I cant call and get another BM because I already did that...
Im about to go nuts! This is the most miserable thing ive had to deal with....

I am so sorry that you're having such a hard time. Honestly, as much as I love JT if this happened to me while I was looking to book I would go elsewhere. It sounds like you're not getting what you want and your FIL are not happy either. There are so many places to choose from...don't settle!

Like I wrote in my FM, I went in there open, totally willing to book any date available and was open to their suggestions. I got the mini V free, but if that's not something you want then maybe ask for something else...we also got shrimp skewers at the CH free. Perhaps what they have to offer isn't what you like, then you need to go elsewhere. I wish I could be of more help because I had so many terrible stories while trying to book and JT was the last place we saw. Maybe the saw the unhappiness in my face and that's why they were so awesome...maybe they could tell I was tired of looking at halls. Go with what feels right to you.

Also, it depends on the menu that you're getting. We are doing the basic wedding menu and there isn't a lot of room on that one for negotiating...if you're getting the deluxe then I was told they could work more on price.

How much are they quoting you and for which menu? I just want to know if they're trying to make a huge profit or are working with you.

I wish you the best.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Hi!

I know that you said that you don't want to work with another BM, but I really think you should give Mike a shot!!

I was so aggrevated in the beginning because the BM I originally booked with left and than everytime I called JT, I was talking to someone different. It was so frustrating because some people didn't care or some were snotty. I was actually too late in the game to change halls. But, than a family member had told me to talk to Mike and that was the best thing ever. Working with JT was great/worryfree from that point on.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

For those of you that have used Jimmy from Fine Art photography, Does he shoot some photo journalistic photos as well as the regular and traditional ones? I can't remembrer and I booked him a year ago. I was just curious. I know he will do some black and whites but I cant remember if he will take some photo journalistic ones as well.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

I used Fine Art and Jimmy was great. I had two photographers..Jimmy and Cynthia. Jimmy pulled all of my colored shots and they were more portrait style. Cynthia (was the photojournalist) and she took all of the black and white random shots.

I think if you tell Jimmy what you want, he can do anything...especially if you are not hiring a seperate photographer for photojournalistic shots. He is a really nice guy and kept us laughing throughout the whole day and night.

Be careful though..he came up to me about 1/2 b4 the end of my wedding and said that they were leaving..I was shocked. Than I checked my contract and it only had the time that they were starting..no end time. So, make sure he writes in the contract that they are staying until the very end.

Good luck!!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

The tasting is tonight , I'll let you know tomorrow how it went. We are really excited.

Oh, we also just realized that our last monthly payment was this month. No more payments...that is until the final bulk payment the day of the wedding . But at least we have 2 months where JT doesn't get our money.

99 days left as of today.
