Re: Official Land's End Thread

I went to a wedding at Lands End on Friday and here's my mini review for you girls:

It was amazing!!

They couldn't have the wedding outside b/c of the weather, but they did a great job and set it up on the dance floor in the reception room. The CH was huuuuge! She had about 250 ppl there and the dance floor got a little crowded, but it didn't bother us! Food was really good too... mashed sweet potatoes yummm.

The staff was over the top! Our water glasses were ALWAYS full and they would fold our napkins every time while we were up dancing. They asked us if we needed drinks a lot too.

Their DJ was Tommy Tunes and photog was Patken.

I spoke to one of the girls here on LIW who went to a wedding at Lands End recently...the only poor thing she said was that there was not enough seats for the cocktail hour....

since its a small place...im wondering where they fit everyone and how many tables are there?

I think it is only a problem if you are up near the max capacity and if the weather is crappy - it it is just drizzly or misty, people can still sit outside under the overhang. That is why I am PRAYING for good weather There are alot of tables in the outside area.

no - i don't think a single one of my vendors were recommended by Land's End. I visited alot of Land's End vendors, but ended up choosing who I liked the best. Oh wells!

I'm only having about 125 people which I think there is plenty of room for with the bar room, CH room and the other room adjacent to it. Also, alot of people like to stand and mingle.

We had around 175 and there was plenty of room for people to sit during the cocktail hour. The weather was a little cool so almost everyone was inside. I took a moment to rest on the leather furniture!

Re: Official Land's End Thread

Our wedding is October 21, 2006. We LOVE Lands End. We had our tasting a few weeks ago and the food was amazing. The cocktail room is huge and I know someone who went to a wedding with 250 people and it was a little tight.

Ours is only going to be around 150 people. We are using North Island Photography (love Michael), Wild Rose Video (Marie and Bill are great), Hyatt Regency Wind Watch in Hauppauge (Heather is awesome). Our DJ isn't a recommended we weren't crazy about the recommended ones we met with, we are using Parties Alive. Our limo company is All Star.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Lands End is wonderful! We can't wait!

Re: Official Land's End Thread

This is a mouthful:
Hoping to be a Land's End Bride in '07. I have not seen the place personally (bc I live in VA) but from what I have researched on LIweddings and learned from various friends and family who have attended weddings there, I will definately be happy. Once I hear back from Jennifer (at Land's End), I would like to move forward and book my date (as they are quickly filling up) and send her a deposit. We have not discussed the next step of making a deposit, etc with Jennifer because we wanted to take the time this weekend to really make a decision and decide for sure if we were going to book a place 'sight unseen' (even though my parents have gone there and taken pics for us).

Does anyone know what their deposit policy is (i.e. %, cashier's check, deposit refund, etc) because FH and I are not going to be on LI until the end of September and would like to send it in asap.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!
