Official Marina Del Rey Thread

I know there are a few of us now who are getting married at Marina Del Rey. I wanted to start an official thread so we can plan together and chat.

aww, this should have been done last year LOL I have only 5 days till i get married, but i will def try to help out before and after. How is everything going?

aww thanks, i am soo excited, they have been so great, i have to tell you, you are in good hands, and it seems like they always have soo many wedding going on there. I am surprised that fewer people form this website arent having their wedding there.

well the ceremony is at 11:30 (guests are arriving at 11:00) you are welcome to come for the ceremony if you want to see how a wedding is there. Hopefully the weather will be nice too so it'll be outside :)

B - Felicia wanted to have her wedding there, but they were booked for her date. Did you know she just had her anniversary this past Friday...can you believe she's been married 4 years already!?!

oh my god, it feels like yesterday that we were there, i still remember some of her ceremony!!!
She mentioned she wanted to have her wedding there but it was booked :( I am sorry she wont make it sat, even though she may try to come for the ceremony

I def dont mind pictured being posted (just please make sure FH and I look OK LOL), since we are leaving the next day for the HM, so i wont have time to post any myself.

Nope! As far as I know there are 5 of us now. A couple of the MDR brides do not post often. Ihave communicated with them via FM.

So, you're getting married in October? That's a great month. Which room are you in? Are you also on the Knot? I was on there the other day and saw that there is another MDR bride getting married there in October.

I am getting married in october! I love the fall!! I'm having my cocktail hour, actually cocktail hour and a half, in the big room with the patio and our reception is in the Venetian.

I am on the knot also, but i'm on this site way more often!

My reception is in the room where you are having the CH. I don't remeber the name of the room. The Venetian is already booked for the night which is a bummer because I was hoping to have it for my CH. We will end up having it in the room that is right in the middle next to my reception room.

I really am bummed about it because I love the look of the Venetian room and has a different look versus my reception room.

Nope that's not me but those are absolutely gorgeous!!! Its not official yet but I ant to do the fall colors, burnt orange and yellows. I still have time to change my mind though!!! Those are really really nice!!

Burnt Oranges and yellows should be beautiful. I am toying with the idea of doing alternating CPs in red and plum. My room has very neutral colors and bursts of color will really stand out --- or at least I think so

The CPs I posted above are from another MDR bride on the Knot. She is also getting married in October -- like you! We should track her down and get her on here.

Bayla - who got married this past Saturday at MDR came to this site after I found her on the Knot. Then she came over here and became and LIW bride!

To be honest, I'm not a fan of ANY of the cakes there. My FH's friend got married there a few years ago and his wife said she brought a picture of a cake to them and they made it for her! I asked them when I went in and they said no extra charge, just bring in a pic and they will make it! So I've been all over the internet looking at wedding cake pics!

By the way, your center pieces are gorgeous!!! Who is doing your flowers?

Sorry to move in on your post ladies, but I just wanted to say that Marina del Rey is a great choice. I am definitely biased because I am a Bronx girl, but I was recently there in February to see the new renovations and it looks AWESOME! The owners are very dedicated to making their brides happy. If I was getting married in NY, they would definitely be one of my top choices.

I was at Bayla's gorgeous wedding on Saturday at the Marina del Ray.... we had a great time and it's a beautiful place!

I'm sure she will tell you all about it when she gets back from her HM!
