Official North Ritz Club Thread

Original post by AtticaQT

As you can see - I am absolutely bored and procrastinating from doing work - so I made of list of past and future NRC brides so we can all know where to get info, reviews, opinions and pictures from. Hope this helps everyone! I am sure I missed some past brides and some future brides - I'll still look for more though...

I just joined and I am getting married there on 12/7. I also just posted a questions as to what is better there the sushi bar or searfood bar to add to the cocktail bar. Any words of wisdom?

Welcome AJARD!! I am using BURTONS as well!! You will have to let us know how everything goes! Sorry I am not sure about your cocktail hour question!

Also ladies--I went there again on Friday to see if they did what they said they were going to do, in way of the decorations. They just put some mums out front and some ornamental cabbage. Nothing too impressive--I was a little dissapointed--especially after driving past Fox Hollow and seeing what they did!! MUMS EVERYWHERE!! It looked beautiful! The prettiest thing @ the NRC was the beautiful tree in the front that had turned bright yellow....o well---hopefully next year they'll do better!

Re: Official North Ritz Club Thread

Just poking in and saying hi to my NRC brides!!!! Cute thread!

ajard - I did the seafood bar over the sushi bar and it was great or so I heard. I had only a couple shrimp off a plate in the bridal suite - I didn't remember what it looked like on my wedding day - I needed to look at the video to find out!

PS any next fall brides - I am sure you will have a beautiful landscape for your pictures - I got married there last year and there wasn't too much on the way of grounds yet and my outside pictures came gorgeous...all the pretty fall colors - it almost looked fake....I am not sure how many I posted like that in my proofs but I have some nice backgrounds - too bad it was too cold to take too many outside - my BM's were all shivering.

has there been any word from spel? - I believe that she just got married...I am sure she is going to be a gorgeous bride!! can't wait to hear from her...

Can you also add me to the NRC thread if I'm not already on it?? Thanks. Don't you get so attached to your Reception site! Well I've heard many excellent things about it so far, just wondering though about the cake, whats the general word on that, I think I heard a mediocre review once about that.

Re: Official North Ritz Club Thread

I had my wedding at the north ritz club on 12/7. They were amazing! The service and food could not have been better. I added the sushi bar at the cocktail hour, it was a big hit. We also had the ice martini slide, also very popular. A++++ for NRC. People thought the cocktail hour was the best ever

I used Burtons for my flowers. For the price they were lovely. They did my cake perfect and just as I imagined it with fresh flowers.
The flowers did not hold up well after the wedding..but not a big deal. Picture below

Myself and 7 others in my bridal party went to Two Stephen Street in Plainview for hair and makeup. Karen Loree is a great makeup artist and Ilise did an an amazing job on my hair.

Susan Marlan, an interfaith minister did our ceremony. Her ceremony is VERY spiritual without using religion. And she can incorporate any religion you choose to the extent that you choose. People were really impressed with her ceremony. We did it at the NRC

Re: Official North Ritz Club Thread

it's great that all of us can go into this thread, I'm always keeping a look out for NRC reviews. Has anyone or does anyone want to be present at the cocktail hour and enjoy the food with their guests? I would love to do that because usually the food is the most fun and interesting at the cocktail hour. How would you work that? Any suggestions.

Re: Official North Ritz Club Thread

Thank you all! We took all our pictures at the hall from 9:30-11:30. then we had a short break and the ceremony was 12 noon and the cocktail hour began at 1230. Its tight! But it works. The ceremony room was so pretty
I had 3 songs played at the ceremony:
1. for the immediate family a live flutest and pianist played 'the wedding song, by Kenny G'
2. then for the bridal party they played the CD of Jim Brickman, 'the love I found in you'. The words are so amazing..kind of unique to play a song with words for them to talk down the aisl, but it was a good beat
3. And then for my and the flower girl it was Canon in D , live with the flutest and pianist

THen the flute guy stayed and played the sax at the cocktail hour.

We , the family and bridal party escaped directly to the bridal suite. We let the guest fill into the cocktail room and then we greeted them there. We did not have a receiving line because we didnt want to hold the guest up from getting into the cocktail hour and we wanted to attend the cocktail hour. We had a short break between the end of the cocktail hour and when we were introduced into the reception room.. we ate the coctail food then. they brought upstairs plates oif what ever we wanted.. .it wsa plenty of time, since it takes a while to get everyone situated in the reception room. No matter what you do , the day flies by!

Ps.. to those of you having your ceremony at NRC.. even though you see your groom in advance for pictures... it is still very exciting to see him at the end of the aisle later that morning....
