The # of people attending is also my concern.
I plan on inviting 170 and I'm hoping that 150 attend.
You're getting married on a holday so maybe people will be away---

I am hoping on 120ish
Sounds like a good number for me
Any other Sans Souci brides out there??
Did they let you throw those petals after the ceremony?? They told me it was okay - just wanted to see what you guys did.

Hi everybody!

After much lurking and reading posts by you guys and others, I chose Sans Souci. It's really a great choice for so many reasons.

I'm up to picking a photographer and a band. I looked at the house photog, Deja Vu, and they are really affordable and good pictures. But I don't know whether there's a better choice. I see you all picked others.

I figured the house photog would know how to make the dance floor look larger and teh ceiling higher!

Anyway, I am also looking at Renegade, Faze 4 bands, etc. Who knows how to get a crowd up best? They all seem to run around 5-6,000. however Sans Souci is so small, how many pieces can we really fit in there? I'm thinking 4-5, what's your experience been? I want to have the house rocking!

:) Good luck girls and thanks for starting a thread.

Hi!
I'm getting married at Sans Souci August 7th, 2005!
I'm so excited to find others!
What are everyone's plans for pictures? Are you going to take pictures at Sans Souci or go somewhere else first??

Hi!! Welcome to the thread. There are lots of great ideas to be found around here!

We are taking pix at the Oyster Bay Arboretum first and then also at Sans Souci. Those will likely be mostly family shots and such. I am praying we have a warm fall so that not everything is all gone !

For MeladoriDawn - We're having renegade for our wedding - they said they play there all the time and the lack of space is not a problem. We looked at Deja vu for photography but decided to go with Duet because of price.
Good luck with your planning.

how much time do you have between the wedding and the reception? i would like to take pics somewhere also but will there be time to go to the arboretum if there's only 2 hours in between?

Re: Official Sans Souci thread...do we have one?

I am planning on taking pics from like 10-10.30-45 b/c we have to sign our ketubah b/f the wedding - we aren't having too many 'posed' shots so we will split up from the parents since we have the 2 photographers

Cocktail hour always has the best food & my friend is doing the ceremony music, so I have to hear her & her string trio...

Hi girls,

Hey Darly! You're the one who had my date, lol. We were thinking of Sept. 12 but it was taken so we went with the 16th (which is actually our lucky number so we were glad to end up with that).

Looking forward to here more from people who have gotten married at S.S.

I have *less* than 2 hours I think. The ceremony is at 10. I guess it's over by 10:45. We hit the Arboretum by 11:15 and the reception starts at 1pm (i might push that to 1:30). The photographer says we can do it. My BP is REALLY small (just 6 including us) I am not so sure about this, but that's what i have to deal with.

that's so funny!
we really wanted the later slot but taht was already taken!

my bday is the 8th
the funniest thing is i swore that if i didn't get married by 35, i wouldn't - i am getting married 4 days later - i guess rules were made to be broken!

is everyone using donald hedgecock or using their own florist...
i am using him, but bought my vases at big lots b/c i didn't like what he offered - pls, i am doing a little bit of an upgrade

I'm only using him for the ceremony, my Mom works in the flower district and is doing the centerpieces.

I pushed mine till 40 lol

I am also a Sans Souci bride to be. So cool that we are having an official site!!!

We are at the point of picking a band and we really like the house band 'Roust About' by Spectrum. Only saw their video, and was wondering if anyone has had experiences with this band or if it was considered??
