hear hear i agree with peach traffic? when we crossed the street - you can see our pics there were no cars we walked out right in the middle of it all & those who did drive by honked and waved at us
i loved ss for the same reasons as peach if you want a typical long island weddding the ss is not for you
but again, we ware biased due to the fact that we had the kind of party we wanted at the sans souci - amazing food, wonderful locale, flowers, romantic setting and more...
yea peach we want pics!!

Re: Official Sans Souci thread...do we have one?
SS worked with us on the price and the guest minimum. I think you either click with it or you don't. It was the first place I saw and I spent every other visit to other halls using it as a comparison. My priorities were personal attention, one wedding at a time, waterfront (that road that separates it from the water is no big deal), elegant and not gaudy, ALSO mostly importantly, though I didn't want to admit it when I saw gorgeous, huge halls that I liked....it was the perfect size. And size does matter when you are having 100-120 guests. You want the room to be full but not crowded. SS worked for us. Also I hated the slimy staff at other places. SS is very professional and doesn't give you that overdone, disingenious feel that many other catering places do.

Thanks ladies. I'm truly glad you all have nice weddings there. I don't want it to seem like I entered this thread to argue with all of you. I originally wanted opinions bec. I hadn't heard that much about it and I hadn't seen it yet. However, once I saw it, it wasn't for me. You are right, you either click with it or you don't. Thanks again ladies. I do appreciate your help.

I cannot wait to see your 12th night pics!
I figured that you would get them right away being that they're digital and all. I could swear Dominic said we would get a rough cut of them almost immediately...
I'm so excited about SS. I can't wait 6 mos.!
I have to say the 2nd most exciting thing will probably be the band, Timepiece. They are gonna be so great. I just hope 9 pieces doesn't blow the windows out! They're kind of loud and rowdy

i cannot believe it is taking so long for the pics apparently the same thing happened to searsc - she has to wait too... dom is so busy - that's what the receptionist said...
you can tell them to lower the volume a bit just so the guests can talk to one another - but i am sure they'll be great! they know how to adjust the sound for each spot i'm sure!
are you getting married there too or just having the party?

Re: Official Sans Souci thread...do we have one?
Hi girls -
I am having my wedding at the SS on 12/31...can not beleive that it is coming up so quickly. Darly, your pic's are beautiful! Did you use their florist, Donald? I am using him....but for some resaon he is making me nervous....maybe b/c I expected my flower guy to be more like Frank from Father of the Bride! Can you (or anyone) let me know what the thought of his work?
Thanks!

Re: Official Sans Souci thread...do we have one?
I don't know if anyone else was planning on going to the March tasting (since my wedding is in April, I was!) Anyway, it's been cancelled?!?!?
So I will HAVE TO try to get a private tasting. Anyone ever do a tasting on a non-tasting night (1st thurs of the month)?
Also, the website has been down. The jitters are creeping in that something might be wrong. I love SS!!! I hope everything works out.
