Official Velvet Studios Thread

Since it seems many of us so far have chosen Velvet Studios, i figured we should start a thread. I think it will be helpful come E-Pic times and of course leading up to the wedding and getting proofs, etc.. Plus any brides considering using Velvet can come and ask our experience with them Thus far.

I know some can't view there site. I can't. So here is there phone number if you would like to meet with them... 631-425-4900.

I somehow came across this thread and just wanted to say that we had an AMAZING experience with Velvet. My DH's cousin also used them in April and their proofs are so gorgeous!

We recently got our storybook album and there aren't even words to describe how beautiful it is and what a wonderful job they did. Here's the link to my album: CLICK .

I haven't started looking yet but I think that Velvet, Duet and Patken are the three I will def. check out since that is who I hear most about.

Your album is the reason we booked with velvet. I saw your pics and just though how beautiful they were. I can't wait for my day and for all my pics!!!

Hey girls, sorry to barge in...but I saw that some of you were looking for places to take your epics with Bob- who by the way, love!!!! Velvet did my sister's wedding in 05 and like many of you have posted already, Bob was great to work with then and now for my wedding. My epics are in my profile if you want to check them out. I think I got around 100 pictures emailed to me, but I only posted about 10. Also, my sister's name is jeanla4c if you want to check out her finished wedding album.

Bob doesn't have any premade packages. He goes over the products with you and builds your package that way. The Velvet Studio He is definately worth the visit!

I definately recommend meeting with Bob from Velvet to go over the packages and what the finished product look like. He will give you a custom quote based on what you want. The Velvet Studio

Does anyone know how long it takes to get your proof from Velvet?? I can't remmeber what he told me. I herd from other brides that used other photographers it takes about 2 months to get there proofs. I though bob said about 2-3 weeks.

Can you all help me with the idea of E pics... is it something that is an added cost? how does it work? Do you go to a studio or to a location?

What do you recommend about Engagment pictures?

The engagement pics are included and he will go anywhere you want to go take them. it's no extra chagre. I think it's just so that you get comfortable with him and see how th epics will be.

Usually E-pics is an added cost, then if you want to go on location that's extra then prints etc.... The session is included, you can go where you want, and you get the images on CD to print yourself.

The way Bob made it sound is that it is no extra cost. We told him we would want to do them in Central Park and he said that is not a problem and no extra cost.
