Since it seems many of us so far have chosen Velvet Studios, i figured we should start a thread. I think it will be helpful come E-Pic times and of course leading up to the wedding and getting proofs, etc.. Plus any brides considering using Velvet can come and ask our experience with them Thus far.

The way Bob made it sound is that it is no extra cost. We told him we would want to do them in Central Park and he said that is not a problem and no extra cost.
One of my good friends took pics in central park. they cam out so pretty. she had to pay for a permit though.

If you go to the gardens I was told you have to pay a fee, But if you just go in the park, you dont have to. Like, we want to take them near the ice skating rink because that is where FH proposed and we had our first date.

Thanks I can't wait!! We are taking them next December, because thats when everything happened. We may also try to go to Rockefeller Center to take pictures in front of the tree. But only if we have extra money to give him to go to a second location.

AAAHHHH OMG Megan, this is so funny!! FH proposed to me on the top of rockefellar center, so we wanted to do e pics there and we were hoping to get over to central park to do some extra!!!!

I now have an appointment with Velvet Studios on Saturday! I am so excited and I really have to say without ever speaking to BOB (we kept playing phone tag) he has been nothing but commited to answering any questions I have had over voice mail. I really cant wait to go!
Any place that I can go while I am in that area? Is there any dress shops or anything?
Is Velvet also doing your videos? I wanted to look at wildrose for the video...is it more expensive if you split the two services up between two companies?

I am using Velvet for my video too. I was going to use a different company, but i figured it would be easiest (and is usually cheapest) to use 1 company for both.

He really does an amazing job with the video. CaMacho's was actually the video we saw and it was breathtaking!!! It's a whole family thing. His wife is the second photographer and I think his daughter is the videographer. They'll work well together. Get your quote w and w/o video.

Were taking our pics in Central park maybe this spring. That is where Fh proposed to me. We went for a horse and carriage ride and it was right near the carousel that he asked me so will probably go over there.

We are doing it at Central park too. Probably next December though. We had our first date ice skating in central park and that is where he proposed.

Bob said we'd probably schedule the pictures for the spring or summer next year but it was up to me. I think I'd rather do them this fall and use them for STDs or for the montage.
