I'm normally a lurker but I have to add this...
My fiance is from England and hadn't seen the hall before I booked it, so we visited this past week so he could see it. While there, I asked Bill if they planned on getting rid of the mural since its as I put it 'not our cup o' tea' and I know there are other brides who agree with us. He said no way because there are way more brides who like it v. those who don't.
I know someone had mentioned asking him, so I figured I would while we were there... sorry to disappoint ladies. :)
Also, I'm not sure who knows this, but they have loads of colors of overlays and tablecloths. I noticed someone posted about renting them, so perhaps look at their colors before you rent.

Thanks Mel for that Info! I def want to find out about overlays and chair covers . Ah the mural, if thats the worst thing that happens on my wedding day Ill take it!! As for the RD, we are having it by our church in Selden so I cant really help out there, but the lobster roll, cooperage inn and Lobster inn are all places I have been and LOVED!!

Thanks for checking on the mural. I'm one of those people who doesn't have a opinion either way. But honestly go to East Wind and see all the murals they have! Nothing compared to that tiny one.
I am not sure where to have my RD. I am having OT guests so possibly at the KOC next to my church in hamptons bays or a restaurant in hampton bays.
Open to suggestions. I heard the Old Mill Inn in Mattituck is good.

does anyone know anything about the cake? I am not a fan of the one with the grapes. do we get to choose what design we want? (besides flavor and icing) can we get fondant or is it like a whipped cream (not my fave) hmmm

John definitely said they can have made whatever we want and it was included. He said if we see a cake we like, bring the picture and they'll do it.

Is anyone else worried about the cake? I watch amazing wedding cakes all the time, so I guess I'm used to seeing high quality, but when I look on their site, I feel like its not the greatest quality. I thought I remembered reading somewhere that the cake was unlevel and it was SO noticeable....
I'm kinda scared to use them...
