Officially... ENGAGED!!! - Edit: Pic Attached!
So I feel a lot more comfortable writing this on our 2011 board... you ladies are the best...
I hope nobody judges me too harshly but I'm so excited and cannot wait to share the news :)
FH and I did things a little backwards and actually started planning the wedding and booking everything BEFORE we got engaged. I know, I know, we didn't do it the right way and my parents were super upset about it BUT...
Yesterday he completely tricked me and i had no idea what was happening and the next thing i know i'm at the Top of the Rock during sunset and Frank is down on one knee and all i remember hearing is 'you're my best friend........... will you marry me?'
AHHHH!!! We're officially engaged!!!! And naturally there are a million more details but I just had to get it out there!!!!
YAY FOR BEING OFFICIAL!!!!

Here are the details:
FH does some modeling in the city from time to time and is working a runway show for 3 different designers, I was super happy and supportive and when he told me that the runway show was May 8th I told him, absolutely, I will be there (with bells on) haha. He asked one of the designers for permission to pull me up on the runway at the end and propose in front of the audience. The lady was kind enough to say yes so he had everything planned out, he would make sure I had a seat saved in the front row, told me exactly where the show was going to be, and everything would pretty much work out according to plan.
Well, the day before the show, the designer called him to say that it was being pushed back to the first week in June, and that he could still do it but she just wanted him to know. He decided to let me keep the ticket so that I would assume that I was still going to the show and kept telling me to wait for graduation (we’re graduating May 21st and he told EVERYONE in his family that those were his plans and they all kept “secretly” telling me so that I would be prepared for it!) His sister even went so far as to say he was going to jump up on the stage while I was getting my degree so that everyone at the commencement would see it! LOL!
We went to Rockefeller Center, which is where the show is going to be, but told me that before hand the designers were doing group shots of the models up on the top floor, he said our tickets were comp-ed and that I could see the show but not be in the pictures with him. This has happened before so I completely believed him. Well the only things that I knew for sure was that he would officially propose on Graduation and that it would include white roses… he let that detail slip ;)
So we get to the 67th floor and I tell him that I really need to run to the ladies room, he walks me there but says that he’s going to go up and find his group and that I could just meet him there so he could start the photo shoot… Meanwhile, he was texting the “designer” to tell her that we were there and coming up and there was a long line and she was responding with don’t worry take your time we’re upstairs… the whole time it was the building manager lol!
I walk out of the elevator and go upstairs and I’m walking around trying to find him, 3 women that work there all asked me if I needed help because I must’ve looked so lost… so I told them I’m looking for my boyfriend and I see him outside the window waving… by the time I got to the door to go outside he was standing in the corner of the building, everyone out there had moved away from him and gave us a ton of room and all around his feet were white rose petals blowing around and a bouquet of the same flowers we’re going to have in our centerpieces by his feet… I started hysterically crying and all I heard him say was “you really are my best friend….” And I just kept crying and nodding my head yes and saying “I do”![]()
Meanwhile all the women that were working there came out clapping because the entire staff was in on it!
Everyone up on top kept clapping and taking pictures, afterward we went downstairs and I called my mom she started laughing and said yes the whole family already knew! Hahaha, they all played it off really well and I honestly did think it was going to be on graduation..
We walked to The View for dinner and spent a solid 2 hours on dinner just celebrating – the diet went out the window lol – but it was worth every bite! When we got there though he had a dozen long stemmed white roses sitting on the table for me… and a bucket to put a bottle of champagne in. The ring is absolutely breathtaking and I almost cannot believe he designed it himself, it’s 100% custom made, he picked out every individual stone and the setting for it. Ugh it’s to die for!
So that’s it… I hope the story isn’t too boring but tt really was so romantic and worth the wait.
