is it too early for me to book an officiant? for those of you who already have yours, how much do you pay? I just wanted to know what's an average/fair quote, for an half an hour ceremony. It would be a none religious ceremony, so I think we need an interfaith officiant?

I don't think it's too early to start looking. you're under a year now.
we're paying $425 for ours.

well, you can certainly try. I've seen other posts about officiant prices, the range is usually $400-$750 or more.

Re: Officiant
We booked ours last week-- Monsignior Lisante and Rabbi Block. I hear they are wonderful together. Not sure of the price though, but we are meeting with Monsignior next month, so I can let you know then.

Re: Officiant
Because we are getting married at a Temple that neither FH nor I belong to, we are charged a 'site fee' of sorts that includes the use the sanctuary of the Temple and the Rabbi who usually performs all religious services there. Since neither FH or myself have an affiliation with another Temple or Rabbi, we will more than likely use the 'house' Rabbi but will meet with him a few times before the wedding. This way he can know us as a couple and not just people off the street. This will make our ceremony easier to personalize. Regardless of who you choose, you may want to meet with him/her so you can add those extra touches to your ceremony. Just a suggestion.
