So, we are getting married at the Carlyle but are using a Deacon from FH's church. We had never spoke about cost, so with it getting closer, FH asked him. He said that it is up to us. We pay him, not the church. What is a reasonable amount???

I agree, anywhere from $300-$500 would be sufficient.
