Officiant Help!!

So my fiance and my plan is to have one of our very good friends get ordained online and preform our ceremony. Our friend is all for it and everyone is very excited. I have been reading that New York (the 5 boroughs) do not recognize online ordained minsters. Does anyone have any information or can clarify this for me since I am so confused!!!
Please help!
