we are meeting with a potential officiant (for catholic/jewish wedding) tonight. any advice on questions i should be asking? thanks.

Ask them first of all if they are actually ordained from a bonafide semiary or did they send away for their credential as many of the so-called 'interfaith ministers' have. Secondly, are they known to your caterer? Legitimate catering halls have a list of proven and reputable ministers, priests, and rabbis who specialize in interfaith and traditional services who they recommend because they have seen them at work. There are exceptions to this. Catering mills like the Town House and the Scotto Bros. halls use a clergy service. Stay away from their recommendations as they get a kick back. Reputable halls include such places as Flowerfield,Eastwind,C.W.Post Chapel, Land`s End,etc. Believe me, I`ve done the research on this one. Also, a reputable hall will be happy to provide you with a copy of their list. Good luck

we met with a woman named Eva at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Huntington. as soon as we stepped into her office we knew she was perfect. we absolutely adore her and are so excited she will be marrying us!
