Do you tip the officiant? If so, how much? Her fee is $475 & we will be paying in cash.

Good question! I think I read on here not mandatory but wouldn't turn them down. I have heard wonderful things about April I am leaning towards her..but my FH grandfather has pulled the religion card!

I don't think you have to. Do what you think is right or how you feel.

We decided an extra $50, but that was mostly my FH. If it were up to me I personally wouldn't given the fact that we're paying him $750 to begin with, and he doesn't have his own congregation. He pockets all of that, and for 30 min of his time, I think his fee is more than adequate without needing a tip. Do what you think is right, and if you really like them. I've heard some officiants can't receive tips, so maybe a gift if you want or a donation in their name. Whatever you're comfortable with :)

Hmm thanks! I originally budgeted for $400 plus $75 tip & now that the fee is all of what I budgeted for, I was curious. I have only managed to be under budget for ONE thing! Guess I will have to wait and see closer to the wedding how much extra (if any) we have to tip additional
