So.... my fiance is Catholic, I am a Jewish by birth and practice Paganism. My parents want a Rabbi to perform the ceremony, to which I told them that if there is a Rabbi, then there has to be a Priest as well. They were ok with this, however... my FH and I are NOT religious! We want a more spiritual ceremony. Not to mention that there are some Pagan rituals that I want to incorporate into the ceremony. My parents are helping to fund the wedding, so I would LIKE to please them by having a Rabbi and a Priest there, but I don't want to be uncomfortable during my wedding ceremony. Any ideas? Any one know of a Rabbi/Priest that isn't going to blow a gasket over basically being a figure-head to appease the parents? I told my mom I would do some research, so here I am starting...

I have spoken to many Rabbi/Priest combinations because, I am jewish and my FH is catholic. I have to tell you, you wanting them only really to be figure heads might be difficult because they are already (as many point out) doing something that other clergy members frown upon (marrying interfaith couples). Youre best best is to be very honest when calling/e-mailing and explain exactly what you want (be very upfront) and see who is willing to jump on board. I have found the Rabbi's to be more open to ideas and the Priests have to be talked into it (and usually its the Rabbi that does that, so if the Rabbi isn't on board, then there will be an issue). Good luck, this check has been a difficult, exhausting and eye-opening one.

Hi, we are using Cantor Shel Rokofsky and Father Chapman.
We met with 2 other duos and they wanted to make a comedy show of my wedding. Neither FH or I am traditional or really religious and like you were doing it to appease the parents.
Rokofsky and Chapman have been doing weddings together for over 10 years - they have a general schedule that they do but are very open to doing what you and FH want to do which we loved

I have a Rabbi if interested - he does work with a Priest, I believe, but I only used the Rabbi.
