Re: Officiants
I was wondering the same thing. I received an e-mail from a company and they quoted $475. Have no idea what the going rate is and who is good. Thanks for posting this.

Re: Officiants
My Rh recommended clergy. I booked mine 10 months in advance. He was my third call, the previous two were booked for my date. He's traveling from Queens to LI on the day of but, can't guarantee attending the RD. His cost is $400.00

Re: Officiants
I am Jewish, my FH is Catholic. We did not want anything religious and I wanted a female because I just think their voice is so much more romantic and spirtual. My dad was at a wedding, actually doing photography and said the officiant speaking was soooo beautiful that he actually went up and made a comment to her after the service (this was way before I was ever engaged).
She charges $375 for a short ceremony 15 min And I belive $525 for a long ceremony which includes thing options like candle lighting, sand ceremony, readings, etc.
If you want more info, FM me.
I booked her right after I got my FH. She came to our house and met with us right away to see if we liked her. She was great.

We are using Rev. April and I love her! I had been dealing with a lot of officiants before I found her and they were really nothing but headaches. Rev. April is the greatest!!

Re: Officiants
Captain Arnold is also wonderful too...a little more costly, but he is amazing. I've seen him in action.

Re: Officiants
i chose Father Robert Allmen because i wanted someone who could perform a traditional catholic ceremony. He is an ordained Roman Catholic priest that is now part of the reformed CAtholic church which permits ceremonies outside of the church. The fee was $500, but is tax deductible because it goes to the church.

we're using Judge William Corbett. It can be as religious or civil of a ceremony as you want and he is $400 for this year. Not sure what he will be for the upcoming years. FM if you want info

Re: Officiants
We used the one recommended by our hall but I can't say anything bad about her. She has been nothing but sweet, helpful and has great ideas. She has done it for a long time and you can tell. Avg cost is $400-$700.

Re: Officiants
I think it depends on what type of officiant you need. We are using a reform Cantor. He is the nicest guy ever. Believe it or not, our photographer recommended his Rabbi to us. The Rabbi was booked, but Cantor was available, and he is great! His fee is $700, which is average for Rabbi's -- we were quoted $800-1K.

Re: Officiants
We are using Dr. Janine Burns. She's great, very well-spoken and has tons of ideas for all types of ceremonies. For example, we are having an interfaith ceremony with both of our cultures woven in. Her fee is $550 which includes coming to the RD to meet our families etc. FM me for more info if you want!!!! Your Rh should have a list of officiants they recommend and there are many here too!!

Re: Officiants
What type of ceremony do you want? Religious, secular, interfaith? If religious, which one and which denomination, sect, etc.? That will help narrow down the choices.
DH and I wanted a secular, civil ceremony and not presided over by clergy. We went with Hon. William Corbett, a retired judge. FM me if you'd like more info. Good luck.
ETA--clarification.

Same here...using Captain Arnold. My ceremony is outside on the water...so he is perfect for us. Plus, he read to me over the phone my vows and FH's vows and I was crying....I love him and I haven't even met him yet.
