Oh Boy!! My Turn!!

Original post by chmlengr

Or Girl

Let me start off by saying that I am not one of the mommy-to-be's that have posted anonymously (mommytobe, Awaiting, etc.). I have always posted under my name and Ron can attest that I have no other aliases! So we still have 3 other LIW ladies incognito!

That said, yes I am here to post that I am finally pregnant. Right now its still too early to know the exact due date, but it's looking like May 2004. I am about 5-7 weeks and will find out more on my next docs visit, scheduled for October 23rd (I was going to wait to post until then, but I just couldn't hold it in!).

As some of you may know, I threw away my BC last September and we left things to be as they may. But in January, when I was late with AF, but tested negative with a HPT, I thought nothing of it. But February and March came and went and stil no AF and no signs of a positive HPT. So in early April I went to the doc for some bloodwork. All came back normal so he put me on Provera to induce AF and hopefully jump-start my system back to normal. Well I get AF after taking Provera and we're off and trying again.

However, same thing again - no AF and always a negative on the HPT. So in early July I went back to the doc and yet again started the Provera to induce AF and spoke to the doctor about starting Clomid, since it was obvious I wasn't ovulating. I didn't take the Clomid RX then, I wanted to be sure this is what DH wanted as well. But I took Provera in mid-July and AF appeared 12 days later.

Nothing again in July, August or September, so I made another appointment to go back to the doc to get my Clomid Rx. I went in last week to see him. I had started to spot a few days before that, so I was psyched because I thought I was getting my period with out the Provera Rx, and would just jump right in on the Clomid on cycle day 5.

Well, they take my blood pressure and make me give them a urine sample. We start discussing the clomid and the fact I started to spot, although it was no where near an AF. Then the nurse comes back in and says my urine test came back positive. I was like what? I said to the nurse 'How did that happen' and then I said 'That's impossible, are you sure?' So we did a sonogram and sure enough, there it was!! And just like a blinking curser, it had a heartbeat of 110. Wow!

So it seems as if my last round of Provera got me to ovulate, and I most likely conceived in mid-August (black-out baby?). But because of my problems with not ovulating for so long, the doc and both me and my DH are being super cautious now. Doc said there would be nothing he could do to prevent me from miscarrying, so I just have to take it slow and see him on the 23rd for my next appt.

So I am very nervous now, especially with the spotting which I thought for sure was AF starting. Doc said that's normal and I should not be too worried, and just to let him know if it gets heavy or is very red (sorry if TMI). So I ask you all to keep your fingers and toes crossed for me in the next few weeks.

I feel wonderful (heck I was 6 weeks preggo and didn't know it!). I will admit my boobs weigh and ton and are very sore, especially after I get up in the morning. But that's the only sign so far. I will add my EDD as soon as I find out at my next appt. I hope I am not jinxing anything by telling you all so soon, but I know I would have your support no matter what is in store for me. So I am letting it be known to all my LIW ladies, and our families and friends won't know until the end of the month!!

Wish me luck and send good vibes!!

Congratualations!!! What an awesome suprise! Try not to worry about the spoting, many women spot during their pregnancy. My mother spotted for each of her 5 pregnancies and she had 5 healthy children.

Congrats again!
Wishing you and baby a happy and healthy pregnancy.

I am so happy for you! That is absolutely amazing. Congratulations to you and your DH. And seeing the heartbeat already is a great sign. To reassure you, I spotted/ bled for the first 12-14 weeks of my pregnancy. Just keep your OB in the loop about it. All the best. Enjoy this fun time!
