Oh God.. it's going to rain on the 15th

Original post by AndreaES

I am so sad right now. I've worked so hard and so fast and now it's all for nothing if it rains. We cannot fit everyone in the house, and even a 40x20 tent would not be big enough with the food the bar, and ALL of the kids. I don't know what we are going to do,I've been crying since I saw the forecast I guess that's what I get for trying to plan an outside wedding in September. This just ***** so much I know I wasn't going to have some extravagant affair, but is is the ONE and ONLY wedding I'm am ever going to have and now it's going to be ruined. It can't rain, it just can't. I worked to hard and It means to much to me. I don't know what to do.

Stop, take a deep breath!

There is no way they can properly perdict the weather for the 15th when today is only the 6th.

There are so many times the forecast wrong for the following day.

ok they cant even predict the weather for tomorrow ... so you cant believe what they say for next weekend....

Got that right!

Plese don't worry about the weather...your day is 10 away and it will be beautiful even if it does rain!
To misquote that song:
Don't rain on yor parade!

Just enjoy these hectic few single days left!

But I hope the sun is shininng beautiful for you

I have left my house in the morning with an umbrella bc THAT morning as i watched the weather on TV it said it was going to rain and i carried a darn umbrella all day for no reason bc it never did. THeyre wrong ALOT and it constantly is changing.

Just dont let the weather be the deciding factor on your happiness the day of the wedding.

who knows?

my wedding is on the 15th.

i have been monitoring the weather obsessively for the last few days.

it has gone from rain --> partly cloudy --> scattered showers --> sunny.

it stresses the willies out of me...I think Mother Nature and the weathermen want me to have a stroke.

thanks date twin!! it's nice to know that since this morning the forecast for the 15th already changed!!! I'm seriously not going to believe what the forecast says until its at least within 24 hours. Andrea- prep for the possibility of rain as a back up plan and then enjoy the next week!!

It's the 6th. The weather forecast for the 15th is about as accurate as the forecast for 9/15/2008.

STOP worrying about things you cannot control. Seriously - it's 10 days away. RELAX.

Whether it's a week before or an hour before, you CANNOT and will never be able to change the weather. Deal with the things you can actually control and leave mother nature to do -- well, exactly what she's going to do whether you waste 9 days worrying about it or not.

ETA - Up until 48 hours before my wedding day the forecast said thunderstorms. It was 82 with no humidity and sunny. RELAX!

All you are doing by worrying about this and getting so upset over it is ruining the days before your wedding with additional stress. The worst and least healthy form of stress is stress over things you cannot control. Don't live your last 9 days as a single woman under that kind of stress. The weather will be what the weather will be. Maybe it'll be perfect - maybe it'll be a crazy day. Either way, it'll be a memorable, wonderful day.

WELL SAID!!!! u still have SO much time....the forcast will probably change a million times by the 15th, and u have to just remind yourself that the weather is the ONE THING U CAN'T CONTROL!!!!! enjoy this last bunch of days! and your wedding day will be the most amazing day or ur life - rain or shine!!!

rather then tell you to relax, because god knows that is the last thing you want to hear....I will just tell you that 9 times out of 10, the weather people have no idea what they are talking about. My DOG can be a weatherman for all we know....if it rains, you do the best you can. that is all you can do. Is there any way that you can move the location to someones home that may have a bigger yard? Maybe rent a VFW hall? I know that isn't want you were going for...but if there is a chance of rain, you need to prepare for any possible options. I'd get on the phone and make some calls. good luck! i hope the weatherman is wrong as usual!

Ok, I have to admit, I'd be FREAKING out as well. But the other girls who left comments (they are so sweet!!!) are right - it will be beautiful and special no matter what happens! Just in case, I think that the more prepped you are for it, the better you'll feel now. Can you combine the house AND the tent as your event space? Maybe clear all of the furniture out of one room in the house, set up bars around the perimeter to make the tent your eating space and the inside room the 'lounge' space to dance in after dinner? I don't know if that is possible, but it might work without adding to the budget.

I actually checked out The Metropolitan Club in NYC and that is how they host the events - dancing after dinner. Apparently it's a trend! :) Either way, I'm crossing my fingers and wishing the best for you! Enjoy these last few days of planning!

I am getting married the same day and was looking at the forecast the last couple of days and you know what it kept saying sunny one day and thunderstorms/rain the next and it kept changing back and forth. I dont rely on weather forecasts as for they are usually 80% wrong. I am hoping for good weather but what comes I will take. So don't start panicking now it could go your way just keep your head up.

When I checked the weather 10 days before my wedding, it said 90% chance of rain and I freaked! Needless to say, as the days went by, the chance of rain went down more and more. Our wedding was gorgeous and not a cloud in sight! So, try not too worry too much (I know it's easier said than done though)
