Oh, I don't know what to do. I have a pit in my stomach and tears rolling down my eyes. I was reading through a packet of information from my Church and the brochure said somewhere Saturday ceremony's are at 1:00 and 3:00pm and Sundays are at 3:30 and 5:00......THe problem? My priest had told us 3:30 on Saturday! So my invitations all have 3:30 on them, my vendors are all booked for a 3:30 ceremony. I know he told us 3:30 because even my FH heard 3:30! But, when I talked to the priest today he said over and over that it must be my error. Which is fine, there is nothing I can do about that. But he says we can't run over into confession and that people are all already set up (organist and soloist) so he wants it to stay at 3:00pm. He's asking me am I doing unity candles? How many kids are in the wedding? Am I doing flowers at the Blessed mother? How big is my bridal party? He is going to call the organist and soloist to see if they can move it until 3:30 but then I'm thinking that my Gosh, he might rush right through the most important part of the day.
My question is, if he can't move it, I know that I'll send out a separate little card to everyone who RSVPed yes that says the ceremony is now at 3:00 but can someone please help me with the wording. I am so embarressed that there was this much confusion (Church's should provide contracts for all the details ) and so embarressed that I would have to send it out. So please help me with wording that doesn't sound horrible. THank you so much in advance.
UPDATE: The priest said he would change it!!!!! We might never know the answer but he said my butt better be walking down the aisle at 3:30. His words, 'If you don't like your hair, too bad. If your FH wants to get a hair cut, absolutely not.' He was being funny and of course a part of me is worried that he will rush through something so important but on the other hand, I just prayed that God would do what needed to be done. THank you so much for all of your kind words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, I am so sorry. Why don't you just say 'due to a miscommunication, the ceremony is now moved up to 3pm. I'm sure your guests will understand'

Oh my goodness! What a drag!
I think what I would do is send a printed note on the same stationery as the invites (if possible) that reads something along the lines of Please note, the ceremony time is now at 3:00pm. I wouldn't get into any explanation. And, I'd get some additional direction cards from the church (he owes you at least that!) and include those.
Try not to worry - it'll work out!

Re: Oh Gosh, please help me!
I'm sorry you have this added stress.
Because the vendors are booked and they schedule weddings based on a 3pm start time, I would leave it. You are right, you do not want to rush the most important part of your day (the reason for the day!).
Send a little card saying:
'We can't wait to see you on December 3rd. Please note that the ceremony start time has been changed to 3pm. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you're able to share our joy'.
I'm sure the ladies here will come up with something better. I would not explain why...it's really no one's business.
Don't stress!

Re: Oh Gosh, please help me!
I'm so sorry! Even though it is NOT an amusing situation at all, you could make the tone of the note bit lighter by saying something like this:
'Please note that the time of the ceremony has been moved up to 3:00PM from 3:30PM. We're so in love we didn't want to wait 30 minutes more!'
Or maybe:
'Who says you can't hurry love? Due to some unforseen circumstances, the time of the ceremony has been moved up to 3:00PM'.
May be a bit corny but it's all I could think of.
Good luck!

So sorry to hear that! I agree with the above post. At least it's just a half hour!! This won't be too bad to recover from!! Make sure you udate your vendors!
You'll have a great day!

Re: Oh Gosh, please help me!
Option 1
Due to a scheduling error, please be advised that our ceremony will be held at 3:00 rather than 3:30. We are looking forward to seeing you all there.
Option 2
The invitations were printed and sent in the mail, but three is the new time for our vows to exchange.
To our disappointment there has been a scheduling error, we were informed too late that there needed to be a change.
We hope this does not cause too much of a problem, this was the only thing that it was necessary to rearrange.
Hope that helps, Kelly

Re: Oh Gosh, please help me!
You are all so wonderful! I gained some perspective and I think I just needed a good cry. This has been the most stress-less wedding planning experience that at the first sign of stress, I crumble. It was almost like I was waiting for it! Heheehhehe, thanks for the support. Keep your fingers crossed that it'll work out how it's supposed to!

Re: Oh Gosh, please help me!
The same exact thing happened to a friend of mine. They never realized it until the day of the wedding (at 3 pm the priest was like 'Where is everyone? and the Groom said 'The wedding doesn't start until 3:30) and everything worked out fine....the wedding wasn't rushed at all. I'd talk to the priest and try to see if it would really be a problem just leaving it the way it is.
Alternatively, the 'Can't Hurry Love' idea is really cute.
