OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am about to fall out of my chair with a mix of happiness, naseau and saddness.

My real estate agent just called me. We placed an offer on a home yesterday and IT WAS ACCEPTED!!!!!!!! I really don't know what to feel. My FI was kind of quiet when I told him. I think we are both very scared and happy at the same time. What do you ladies think:

I don't know anything about homes just yet but all I know is they are $$$ in LI.
You have a right to feel all those feelings. Buying a house is like signing your life away on a big commitment. You deserve it and once you close on the house, you will be so happy that you won't have time to feel anything else besides what furniture you are going to buy!

I have to say CONGRATS!! At not only finding a house, but finding one for under 300! LOL.

We've been trying for months. At this point we can't even walk in the door at most of these places before getting outbid.

THANK YOU LADIES!!! I find it so amazing how you all are so encouraging to a complete stranger. I've called my mom and some friends and they can't believe it. I don't offically have the house yet but the fact that I wasn't outbid this time is CRAZY!!!! It is a really nice home but the seller needs out quickly b/c of family issues. I'm so numb right now. I fell everything and nothing at the same time.

You should be very excited but don't be totally overwhelmed until you get the engineer's report back. Then you will know that the house is in good shape. Also, make sure when you do the walk through that you life every counter saver up, look in the basement and attic etc.... People try to hide problems such as cracks and burn on counters and water damage in basements.
It is great NOT to pay rent anymore!

Congratulations. Don't worry it is a bit stressful, but it is so nice also. You get to decorate and do or re-do things the way you like them. It is a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. Good luck with everything.

Congratulations. That's exactly how I felt when my offer was accepted on my home in 2000. I was terrified, excited, you name it. The flood of emotions lasted for days. Of course it's a scary time, it's one of those BIGGIES in your life (buying a house). Personally, I think it's harder than getting married.
