OH MY GOD!! I am utterly flabbergasted! ! !

I went to a baby shower for a close friend on Sunday (although I had to leave early). I made her a 'basket' out of a baby tub (that she registered for) I filled it with diapers, wipes, baby lotions, shampoos, baby oil, baby powder, bath toys, hooded towels, washcloths, bo-bo's, bottles, q-tips, a grooming set, 4 outfits, 4 pj's and a $25.00 gift card it was full to the brim. I also bought her the boppy pillow she registered for. I was speaking to another friend who was at the shower with me and she tells me @@@@@ said 'I cant believe this is all she got me' W T F????

What did she want me to buy her? the crib?? I cannot believe she actually said that!

can we say rude?

I'm gonna chalk it up to hormones, but she cant use that excuse much longer. As for the person who told me this , yes I can most definately believe her. My friend is not the brightest person, and has no problem saying inappropraite (sp?) things.....talks without using her brain

WOW! And all the stuff you did get her add up...it sounds like you spent a bunch on the gift...It didnt come from her directly though...so dont take it to heart....I would be uspet too though if i heard that...

you know what it is, this girls family has money out the ying yang, so when she receives gifts, she expects everyone to give what her family would give.

Now that is wrong! You dont invite people to showers or weddings for the sake of getting a present...its the persons presence that counts. Of course it is customary to give gift in appreciation of receiving the honor of the invite on their special day. Sorry that you had that response to such a thoughtful and well though out gift.

Some people just don't know how to appreciate the 'thought' of any kind of gift. They have never heard of the statement 'its the thought that counts.' She is not very nice to say something like that. That would pi$$ me off!!

Whatever you gave her sure sounds awesome!! I have heard how much many of the items you gave her get thrown out so quickly from over usage.
