oh my god i'm P*SSED!!!!!!

i am so so so pissed i want to cry.

if you remember my post yesterday where i mailed out our invites for our wedding. well i mailed us one as a keepsake, to save the envelope, etc.

when i went down to the post office, hand delivered them, asked them if they could hand-cancel them. the d-bag the took my box said 'no problem'...

i got my invite in the mail today, and the outer envelope was all smeared with black ink, i opened it up and the blue pocket fold was creased all over, and the little rhinestone was still in place, but on the other side where the pocket folds, there was a little hole/indent from where the rhinestone was smashed into it.

i'm so upset. my invites are destroyed. i worked so hard on them, i put so many hours into them. i made them myself and they were NOT hand cancelled. OBVIOUSLY. i want to call them and scream at them, not that it will do any good. i'm so sad now.

i'm so sorry!!! maybe just yours got messed up? did you hear from anyone else??? i would complain to the post office and let them know that you asked for them to be hand cancelled and it wasn't done.

i called my mom and her invite is effed up too. great. i called the stupid PATCHOGUE post office and the supervisor said 'well, i personally put them in the tray to get hand cancelled. that message wasn't received i guess'...he didn't even say he was sorry! so my advice, DON'T go to the Patchogue post office and if they say they'll hand cancel your invites, maybe you can watch them do it, because apparently there is no guarantee that they'll do it even if they say they will. i'm too mad/sad for words.

i know there are much worse things in the world. ugh, i sound like a big baby. i guess the shock of it hasn't worn off yet...

oh i'm so sorry!!!!! i did the same.....FH was able to hand cancel them himself.....and i got my invite to myself in the mail and it looks like a really fat person sat on it!!!! my moms and brothers were the same................your not alone in being upset!

thanks girls. it's been a while since the invite came. i went ballistic on the PO supervisor. i guess i feel a little better. i'll just not think too much about it! but thank you all for your kindness and hugs! i just want to focus on the positive. now at least i can look forward to the responses now.

To avoid these evil machines’ dirty smudges, a lot of people request to have the stamps on their wedding invitations to be canceled with a cleaner and neater hand held imprint.

so...
they aren't squeezed through the machines so if there's any thickness to your invite, they don't get smooshed. HTH :o)

I'm so sorry!! I would have been so upset!! The Hicksville post office is where I took mine, and they were all hand stamped if anyone is interested, they should take them there for sure. Sorry yours got smudged up after you worked so hard on them
