Oh My Lord..

The moment i was dreading just happened!!!

My dad just asked me who is walking me down the aisle!!


I am one of those with the Step Parent dilemma..

I already asked my Step Dad to do it for various reasons and did not know how I was going to tell my dad...

HE ASKED...and I had to tell him...

But I told him I would dance with him..b/c dancing was his forte!!!

I feel like vomiting.....

But it's done!

Awwww I don't know what it's like to go through that but I am sure it was difficult. At least he gets to dance with you though- that's just as important as walking down the aisle IMO.

It's nice that you're splitting it up - having step-dad give you away and doign the father daughter dance with bio dad.

That must have been so hard! But I bet it's a major relief to have it over with.
I had to do the same thing but my father is a complete a-hole. I told him, he said OK and suprisingly offered me money (we have a very difficult relationship and had just started speaking after 7 years). But in the end, he couldn't deal and decided he wouldn't be giving me anything towards the wedding because of it.
Oh well.

Awww..I'm sure that must have been awkward... but as everyone else said...at least it's done. That's def. a good thing... and that you'll be dancing with him he still should feel special.

Would you want to have your Dad maybe walk you half way, and your step dad walk the rest of the aisle? Ive seen taht done before too...

either way, even though it was probably hard to tell him, you had to do it.
by having your step dad do the walk down the aisle and the dance with your dad, then you can honor each of them on that day.

Oh I totally feel you on this one! I have to tell my Father that my Mother is walking me down the aisle. Now he should expect this and I am more than justified in my decision, however there is a HUGE part of me that is DREADING this. But I just need to find the right time and like you just get it over with. I know you feel bad now but you are def making the right decision for you!!!!!


I am in the same exact boat! I'm dreading having that conversation with my dad. I thought I would soften the blow a bit by reversing my parents' roles and asking my dad to light the unity candle.
