Oh no....

Just overheard the bigwigs planning an early morning conference call before us peons come in, to discuss the future of the company.

I overheard the dreaded words 'need to evaluate the role of the catalog and sales and marketing as it related to payroll'

I really hope that I'm secure. Technically there's only two of us in marketing, the guy that does the web stuff and me. I'm definitely more valuable and competant, but he has a penis, so you know how it goes.

I think I'm going to vomit.

I'm sorry to hear that. No one's job is safe these days. I just found out that if we dont get our numbers up for next year I'm facing either a class of 40 or possible boot out the door. Wonderful! Blahhhhhhhhh work *****!

Ali, let me encourage you with this tidbit!!!!! A while back, about 48 customer service people were laid off at Donna's Co. Then, before they left, they were required to train the 'new kids' in another state, on how to do their jobs!! Soooooo, guess what? Donna told me that the other state missed over 4000 customer calls, and the co. called back 10 of the laid off people!!!!!! Let's pray that they get so busy, all will have to be called back!!!!!! I also have a similar story dealing with Debi, who has been worrying about her job security. She just told me that the people who got rid of her program in other states, have been told by the executive branch, they were not going to now qualify for an award within the company, because they did that, causing Debi's boss to proceed with caution!!! Now he is setting up a taskforce, to see whether they'll drop or retain Debi's program. Never saw either one of these situations coming, but hey, miracles can happen!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mary MOB
