Just overheard the bigwigs planning an early morning conference call before us peons come in, to discuss the future of the company.

I overheard the dreaded words 'need to evaluate the role of the catalog and sales and marketing as it related to payroll'

I really hope that I'm secure. Technically there's only two of us in marketing, the guy that does the web stuff and me. I'm definitely more valuable and competant, but he has a penis, so you know how it goes.

I think I'm going to vomit.

I currently have my ear up to the door...thank you girls for the encouragement....I'm really trying not to worry. It would be a really drastic 180 from just a month ago if something were to happen...we were put on pay freeze and not given Christmas bonuses, but I was called into the office and given the whole speech about how he wants to thank me for my hard work and that I do such a great job, that unfortunately I can't be compensated as I should be just yet, but that he hopes to 'make things right' as the year progresses when things get better...then proceeds to give me an AMEX gift card on the down low, loaded with a nice little amount, no where near a raise or what the bonus would have been, but as far as I'm aware I was the only one to get a spot gift.

SO...it would be really bizarre if something were to change from just 4 weeks ago. But who knows...it's crazy out there.

I fear for my job at the moment as well. My boss was in a terrible mood all day yesterday so I asked him this morning what was wrong and his response (no joke) was 'if they decide to let you guys go I dont know how I will ever be able to look you in the face and tell you you dont have a job'

seriously almost threw up on him. So not cool
