that sux about the aisle runner & flower decor

as for petals. i'd do them anyway. lol most churches have that rule--and most brides break that rule.

at that point...what are they gonna do? FINE you?

NO AISLE RUNNERS
I was sooooo excited to make one - I'm seriously so upset over this. When I booked last year, I made sure to ask about the aisle runner, because its something i REALLY REALLY REALLY WANT - now I'm not allowed

I even bought all the supplies to make it - guess I'm doing AC Moore returns tomorrow.

AND- if you want flowers, you have to provide them. My wedding is the day after Thanksgiving, and when I booked, I was told that I don't have to worry about flowers, because the altar is still decorated for Thanksgiving.
NOW they're telling me that they take everything down for the wedding, so it'll be bare.

I don't understand this.

that bites!!!! My church won't let us have rose petals either, or bubbles or rice....only birdseed! Sorry, but I refuse to get pelted with those stinky little things.........Hopefully they'll let us use sparklers! by the time our ceremony is done, it will be dark out.....

Nic , my church was bent on a few thiongs like yours too... They told me it was due to insurance reasons. Like the rose petal's & someone slipping on them ,,

You'd be surprised how that tune changed when the donation amount was increased !!!!! LOL

eta: it will DEFINITELY be dark after my mass.....it only starts at 5pm.

my church did the same thing - we are only allowed to do bubbles.

im going to stalk out the church the month before - if i see one bride throwing rosepetals im doing it to.

for the SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLAR 'donation', they can clean up my friggen petals.

My church has the same crazy rules. I can't have an aisle runner, petals, bubbles, ect. Basically anything that needs to be cleaned up.

Oh no - that stinks!i cant believe they wont let yiu have an aisle runner - that is weird.

do you have like a contract or something from when you booked it? maybe you can work out some kind of compromise

Me too.... and honestly, it was never that important to me.... but see if you can do soemthing else instead for the petals, bubbles? and talk to them about the aisle runner... i don't see why not as long as someone sets it up and takes it down...

the aisle runner thing is a liability issue. it makes the aisle slippery and if someone trips, the church is help responsible.

i would not stress it too much, so many churches have these rules now.

Don't return anything! They're not going to tell you on the day of your wedding if someone puts an aisle runner down right before you walk down the aisle to pick it up. Ask someone to pick it up after the guests have walked out so they don't bother you about it. You were specifically told you could have one and that's that. Also, I'm not allowed petals for outside the church either, just bubbles. Tough luck! I'm having them, and I'm having my little nephew help sweep up the petals after we've walked down the church to be considerate, but we're still having them. I always wanted the black and white picture of us walking down the steps with the petals being tossed at us, and the petals would be the only thing in color. I plan on making that dream come true too, especially since I always see that stuff on the church steps anyways. Don't take no for an answer! Don't even bring up the topic of it. Good luck!

oh my goodness..i cannot believe that...that really stinks...do they really take down all the decorations for a wedding? i dont see why they would? a friend of mine got married after easter and they kept the decor up the whole time...

ok, new idea....

it WILL be dark outside when we come out...how do you feel about giving out votive candles, so when we walk out on the steps, the guests are standing there illuminated by candlelight?

And I'll do bells and/or ribbon wands, because bubbles won't show up in pics.
