I'm ususally not up at this hour, but I got a phone call from our Appliance Dealer, where we had purchased a Bosch dishwasher several years ago. I had replaced my awesome Maytag, that we had for a really long time, but finally gave out. The thing is, the guy who had come to fix the Maytag, and couldn't, said 'they don't make 'em like that anymore!!!!!' Ok, so I went to choose a new dishwasher. The Maytag I wanted to get would not be available for a quite awhile, so I like a dummy, not wanting to wait and handwash dishes, went with a top of the line Bosch, WITHOUT seeing it in person, just trusting the salesgirl!!!! I HAVE NEVER LIKED IT!!!!!!! DOES NOT COMPARE WITH MY MAYTAG!!!!! So, I get the call this AM, asking if I knew my dishwasher had been RECALLED, BECAUSE IT'S A FIRE HAZARD!!!!!!! , and could they come tomorrow to install a kit, that will fix the problem!!!!! Phooey, at first I thought I was going to get to replace this hunk of junk!!!!!! Thanks for listening, and if you have a Bosch or know someone who does, be aware of a fire hazard. Think I'll go back to bed!!!! Mary MOB

OMG, that is not good!!! But at least they called you before something bad happened!!!! Well, now maybe you can get your Maytag you wanted...good luck!

Hi Caroline!!!! Unfortunately, no, they're just fixing it, but you're right, I'm glad they notified me!!!! One of my good friends, some years ago, started her dishwasher before she left the house, and because she had to go back to the house, she prevented a fire, because I think the dishwasher was smoking!!!!!!! Michelle, I think this store is 'stinkproof' I just called to see if I had the option of replacing the dishwasher, and I sensed some resistance!! She said I'd have to take that up with Bosch!!! Well, hello!!!!! I don't like Bosch, so talking to them about getting a Bosch replaced with a Bosch, doesn't help, not unless they can replace it with a Maytag!!!!!!!!! Personally, after all the appliances we've bought from this store in our 36 yr. marriage, ya think they'd want to keep us satisfied, and that they would feel a bit badly about selling me something I don't like, just because THEIR SALESGIRL recommended it!!!! (I told her how I had purchased it sight unseen, on the recommendation of the sales girl). AND NOW I HEAR IT'S BEEN A FIRE HAZARD FOR ALMOST FIVE YEARS!!!!!! Oh well!!!! I better get moving, I forgot I have to take one shower invitation to the PO to be hand canceled. Donna had added a gal from work to my list. Mary MOB
