oh wow

so i posted a while back that i found this amazing lady on etsy to do our calligraphy for a crazy low price and she even learned new fonts for us! well i ordered the envelopes and had them sent directly to her and since sending them i haven't heard from her. i've been sending her etsy messages like crazy and even stalked out her email from her blog. i thought it was a scam and i was out $100 in invitations and a $50 deposit

well i just got soooo excited because i checked my email and got a message that i had an etsy convo from her. i go and check it and it's from her husband! she was in a car accident and has been in the hospital for a week and has a broken arm so she can't do it anymore he said she feels horrible but i totally feel worse bc i've been stalking her like crazy and the poor woman has been laying in the hospital

awww...You didn't know she was in the hospital..I wouldn't feel bad about emailing her..You were just doing your job.

Don't feel bad! How could you know?? Anyone would have done the same thing! When it comes to money and a wedding, you can never be too careful.

It was very nice of her husband to get back to you though. Will he send you the $$$ back?

If it's true I feel bad for her but I have delt with etsy A LOT and at least 6 vendors had the same story when they don't get th ejob doe on the time that they told you. I even went as far as to say they she was in a como. I don't believe anything they say anymore. Just make sure that you get your money back because I am out over $200 because of a few vendor who were in 'car accidents'

yea the envelopes are already on their way back to me and she's going to refund the money

I was talking about my situations, I emalied them over and over and when it was past the time that they gave me those were ther excuses that they gave me and they never refunded me and paypal and etsy could not help me because it was past 60 days.

Oh no!!! You couldn't have known!!! And it happens a lot on Etsy. At least you found out before you took action against her!

That's horrible, but you couldn't have known and I'm sure it wasn't on the top of her mind to notify all her customers immediately. Thankfully her husband responded, you'll get your money back, and have enough time to get it done somewhere else.

ouch!!! that stinks. don't beat yourself up over it, just remember next time you're not getting an immediate response from someone it might be for a legit reason - i know I will after reading this!
