has anyone ever stayed here over night? I'm thinking about doing it for FH as either an anniversary present or a weekend mini-moon right after we get married. Thoughts?

That's a nice idea I thought it was only for Oheka brides

Re: oheka
ooh maybe? I looked online and there were a bunch of different packages. I think they are for during the week, so maybe it's only weekends for the brides?

Re: oheka
Ohhh just saw the small print:
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OUTSIDE BRIDES: OHEKA has a strict 'No Two Brides Shall Meet' policy which means the OHEKA Bride has exclusive right to be the only Bride in her Wedding gown on the premises on her Wedding Day. While Brides getting married at another venue are welcome to stay overnight in our guest rooms when rooms are available certain protocol must be adhered to should any wedding be taking place at OHEKA during your stay. A Letter of Agreement must be signed prior to arrival. Blackout days - Friday & Saturday. Please note in your reservation request under 'Special Requirements' if you are an Outside Bride & Groom.
But what if we aren't going as a bride and groom, and instead just as a guest?

I think it is OK then. I think they just don't want another party seeing a bride there and take the attention away from her.

Re: oheka
I work there so I'll give you all the info:
Oheka is also a hotel open to the public, we have 32 guest rooms and suites, you can book just as you would book any other hotel. Breakfast is complimentary and if you would like to have lunch dinner or drinks in the castle the bar/restaurant is open from 11am-9pm.
As far as the 'no two brides shall meet policy', this means that if there is a wedding the day you come stay you must take off your wedding dress before you come to the castle. You can find out if theres a weddig by calling the front desk. If not, you can come in with the dress on. Either way you are more than welcome to stay!!
HTH !

Haha no, but its a 'you don't mix business with pleasure' thing. I want to walk into my reception feeling like everyone is taking care of everything and I can just relax, eat, and drink. If I was there, I would feel like I'm working because I know the in's and out's with weddings and I know when something is wrong. So I know I would try and take care of it, even though they are amazing at the castle and take care of EVERYTHING.
