Re: Oheka Castle

I believe it is $250-500 a person, and a $5000 site fee. They emailed me the pricing per person, the site fee is what I heard.

Re: Oheka Castle

It depends when you're planning your wedding. We were looking for this August, and they discounted their prices considerably (I guess they want to book the date).

Re: Oheka Castle

I went there in Dec and this is what I was quoted:

Site Fee - Mon-Thurs 5K, Fri 9K, Sat 10K, Sun 8K
Per Head - May/June 2005 - about 300 people on a Fri 180 a head, Sat 230 a head, not sure about Sun - maybe 150 a head????

We were considering a Fri night, but that damn site fee just kills it.

good luck!

Re: Oheka Castle

The best deal I heard was $185 a head for a last minute wedding.

Re: Oheka Castle

no offense to anyone who paid a site fee -- IMO it is all bullsh-t. how DIFFERENT is the site from day to day that they have to increase it by that much? does the room shrink from monday to thursday? come on! gimme a friggin break. there are plenty of nice places out there with NO site fee (or more reasonable ones).

good luck!

Re: Oheka Castle

All halls have a site fee... it is just like paying the church or wherever you have it.

All halls do not have a site fee... it depends on the kind of place you are having it. The more 'non-traditionals' tend to have a site fee, but definitely not all.

Re: Oheka Castle

I got married on a sunday in Oct. $150/person I WISH. If memory serves me, it was $225 PLUS 18% service and 8.75% tax PLUS an 8 or 9,000 site fee PLUS the 3,000 Jazz hour!

Also, the per person fee was more for a sunday than a friday.

THe prices went down significantly from nov. through march.

Re: Oheka Castle

I am not getting married at Oheka, but I am getting married at the Bourne Mansion, and we paid a site fee because they rent it from St. John's University. The money does not even go to Lessing's. And the last I heard, which was recent is that the site fee is 8-10K.

Re: Oheka Castle

I went there for my cousins wedding in 5/01. The place was beautiful...the grounds were amazing, and they set everything up beautiful. They had food stations set up in all of the different rooms of the castle for the cocktail hour and I remember the desserts being amazing. IMO-it was beautiful but it wasn't the best wedding I have ever been to. My cousins are very lucky that money is no object for them but some people are not that lucky. So for all others out there who feel that the money is not an issue than go for it. But I do think that if money is an issue you could find a different place and have the same amazing wedding for a significant savings...JMO!
