We checked out Oheka today and we all loved it. Now we need to negotiate the best price for a Saturday night wedding some time between April and October. Do any of you Oheka brides have any advice or experience with how much they will lower the per head cost and site fee?

Oheka is gorgoeus but not too may brides on the boards have booked them. They are a few, I think you can FM Annieb- she is going to have her wedding there in Sept I think or Jenny11.9 that already is married had her reception there.

I got married there too. I found that the more 'off season' it is, the more they will lower prices. Also, we booked the wedding in 6 months so that helped.

Re: Oheka Negotiations
I just booked the Oheka about 3 weeks ago also for a wedding this september. The sooner you set a date for this year, the cheaper it will be. Not sure if you are going into next year. If so, I don't know how much flexibility there is on pricing. We got a very good price for this year.

Re: Oheka Negotiations
I booked my August 31 wedding (sunday) at Oheka in january. The total price that they originally quoted me was about $60k, including tax and gratuities, for 200 people. We negotiated it down to $50k when I told Rick that was the outer reaches of our budget. Actually, as soon as I told him that,he immediately agreed to drop the price, didn't even make a counter-offer. Made me wish that I had tried harder to get the price down even further.
My original plan was to ask them to drop out some stuff in exchange for a price reduction (ie, no dessert bar, just the cake). But he said they'd rather just drop the price than cut services, because their business depends upon their reputation for luxury. He cut the price per person and the site fee to get us down to the right numbers.
Patrice, if you don't mind me asking, which night in September did you book? We originally wanted a Sept. wedding, but Oheka said they were booked solid every weekend night that month (of course, someone could have cancelled).
BTW, if you guys paid less, don't tell me. I'll cry if I find that out.

Re: Oheka Negotiations
Janette, We actually took a Friday. September 12 is the day. My pricing wasn't too far off, but remember, we have a Friday, so its somewhat cheaper for that reason alone. Couldn't get a Saturday and since I wanted to have a ceremony outside, I didn't want to go into the colder months. Church would have been ideal, then it wouldn't have mattered, but my fiance has to wait for an anulment first. WHo are you using as a florest? Going bananas. Already met with 3 and I'm so nervous about who to choose.

Re: Oheka Negotiations
I just booked my florist this week. I went with Flower Michele. John was the only florist I met with who seemed enthused about working within our (very limited) budget, and really helped explore possibilities for getting the maximum effect with very little to spend. Was really impressed by him and by the pictures he showed me as well.
