Oheka Showcase tonight ! Anyone else going ?

It was very nice! I don't have much to compare it to, as I have never been to a showcase before. They had vendors in the ballroom and in the tent outside the ballroom. Hors d'ouevres (basically stations) were set up in the main cocktail room and the bar was also all set up. There were some great floral displays - it was nice to finally get to meet some of the florists that everyone always talks about! Central Park by Steven Scott (a band) was also there, I thought they were really quite good.

I'm guessing the Oheka brides want to know about the new room. It looks very nice! Certainly quite large. The carpeting is only 3/4 (or perhaps a bit more) down. There are very large (which is very nice, I think) windows going around much of the room from which you can see the grounds or the horizon/golf course, depending on which way you are looking. The design of the room is a bit on the contemporary side right now, but I imagine it will change as they add lighting fixtures and window treatments. Hmmm...anything else? Oh - oddly enough, the flooring outside the new room really struck me as beautiful. Everything else you probably already know - it is a terrific venue! I thought the show was great, the bands were fantastic. The facility is gorgeous. The new room is looking great ! The food was very, very good. There were like 8 florists there, OMG i never saw so many flowers. Flower Michele had some gorgeous stuff, i spent like 20 minutes picking Johns brain about colors and stuff. What a blast !!!

I also went to last night, and will give you guys a few more detials. The new room is very open and more on the modern side. The wall color is sort of a mustard color on the beige side. The carpet base color is navy blue with a gold leaf-floral type of design. I belive they plan to use the gold bamboo chairs in that room, from the drawing they had.

They also build two brand new men's and women's bathrooms right to the left of the room. Then men's room is mostly black marble and the womens is a dark beige marble. The sinks or fictures were not in yet, but they are going to look beautiful. They have 3 stalls, in each bathroom, with dark wooden doors. The hall floor before entering the room is also beige marble, very classy. So now the guests have two separte bathrooms to use depending on which side of the castle they are at, especially for the women, a few more always come in handy. Eveything else was the same as before. If anyone has more
