Ok, another vendor question.......

Erasing this post because I met with the vendor and he was AMAZING! He was totally awesome and I am so psyched to use him now! YAY! I'm so glad I did not allow for the lack of an email sway me from seeing him!

If you called a vendor to schedule an appointment and they tell yuo they'll email you directions, then never bother to email them or call you with them, wouldn't you go into it with a rather, I don't know, negative attitude?

LOL - yes...

but this is from a 'technically savvy' person. i have learned the 'hard way' not all people are technical, but are indeed responsible and worthy.

I don't know, I just assume if you want my business, you'll give me directions to your studio since the address is not even on your website. Right? I'm so aggravated with everyone in the wedding business right now. I have yet to meet with a vendor who seems well put together. It's driving me nuts because these are the people who are going to be in charge of major things at my wedding? It's like, are you friggin kidding me?

If you are that unimportant that they can't call you back than to me they are not worth your business. I had this experience and i went somewhere else.

And it's like, I went to one vendor, who I really liked, but he had told me he'd show me one thing when I spoke to him on the phone, then when I got to the appointment, he didn't follow up on any of those things he told me and scrambled to find anything similar to what he described on the phone. It's really getting annoying. And JT and I are listeners, we want the vendor to tell us their deal first, then we decide our questions for them, and EVERY vendor we have been to has lacked the ability to explain their business and product. They just wnat to know what questions we have before they even tell us what they're all about. When we explain we want to listen first, they ALL get visibly NERVOUS. Like, REALLY nervous. My dad witnessed it when he came along for a meeting and he thought it was quite interesting. I'm so frustrated.

The are lots of vendors...keep searching until you find one you are comfortable with. Yes...they should call you if they said they would with directions...to me, that means I'm not important if they didn't bother and I would look elsewhere. JMO.

I agree that organization is key! I have a lot of stuff to juggle and I always make sure that I am on top of the ball and expect the same from others. For example, there is a vendor on here that everyone raves about and has a really good price but when I went to see them they were 10 mins late and acted like they didnt have a pulse. Mom and I were like 'no thank you!'

I don't mind soo much if a vender was nervous...even though i never experienced this (well except for one). BUT when or if i am trying to meet with a vender. Call 3-4 times and still get no call back...Forget that! And then then minute you leave a message saying don't bother to call...and then they say HOW SORRY THEY ARE..that they are just soo busy...I don't care anymore! If they are that shoddy before they get my money ..Who knows what they will do when they get 2 or 3 thousand...

Re: Ok, another vendor question.......

But it's like an 'I'm not prepared for you' kind of nervous. I just feel like if it's your business nad you meet with clients all of the time, you should be able to calmly handle ALL situations AND be prepared. Maybe being a teacher, I just feel like I have to handle different situations at the spur of the moment all day, so everyone should be able to do this. I don't know. Maybe my expectations are too high

Just an FYI. Many Internet Service Providers have been placing new filters on their email servers in an attempt to cut down on spam. The bad part is many real emails have been getting filtered. Not saying that is what happened here but this is happening way to much thus the vendor might have sent it but it was filtered in error. The companies have got to rethink and reprogram their spam strategy.
