Please define the following:

1. Venetian Hour
2. Wishing Well
3. Chuppah (sp?)

I see these things fly around and I'm so confused..

Vienesse hour is dessert time - usually an elaborate buffet display. Dancing stops and guests select from a variety of cakes, pastries, coffee, etc.

Chuppah is the canopy used in jewish weddings. The bride and groom stand under the chuppa during the ceremony.

Wishing wells are for bridal showers - guests bring little gifts, trinkets, gag gits to put in the wishing well.

Vienese hour (sp?) is the dessert course during a wedding. It usually consisits of an enormous variety of cakes, pasteries...any kind of desserts. It usually adds an additional hour to the reception.

You have a wishing well at a bridal shower. Traditionally you make/rent a 'well' and people put small gifts into it for the house or whatever.

A chuppah is used during a jewish wedding. The couple gets married under it - it sort of looks like a arch or tent.

Hope that helps!

1. At the wedding reception, they bring out every possible dessert that you can think of. Usually right after you cut the cake.

2. A wishing well is something that people put small gifts in at your shower, like serviing spoons, sponges. etc...

3. Not really sure.

I kept seeing Venetian and my dirty little mind would slip over to the images of Roman Orgies..

We're having dessert as part of dinner..
Kinda concerned about that actually..
Crushed strawberries and pears over ice cream..

Not sure when we're doing our cake.

Venetian Hour (Or Viennesse Hour)- Hour filled with a grand display of desserts, cookies, pies. ice cream. fruit. I went to a wedding where there was a candy cart, pretzels. (depends on your hall how elaborate it is)...
Some halls have mini ones with less items.

Wishing well-- Looks like a well (that you would go get water at of. It can be rented or sometimes a restaurant may provide this. It is usually decorated . Sometimes people make one out of household products like a garbage can and mop poles..At the bridal shower. the guests place little kitchen gadgets in there (sometimes wrapped without names or unwrapped so you don't know who it is from. Mine was filled with detergent, gadgets, cake mix, tissues toilet paper, etc. The wishing well can have a theme (I went to a wedding where everyone brought a Christmas ornament for the couples first Christmas tree).

most of the time the Venetian hour is extra $$

sometimes they give it to you as part of the package.

we opted out of it - instead we are getting pasties put on the table along w/ the cake.

I went to a wedding once and the venetian tables were behind this big curtain and they pulled it back like it was this big production....too funny. but the cookies/pastries/chocolates were very good!
