Jim's mother just said most of her friend won't come because we're getting married in Long Island (traditionally we should be having our reception in a resturant in Chinatown).

My father and I KNOW that NONE of my family is going to make it (too far).

With those we feel will make it..we are still less than 50..

I wanted a small wedding that's fine and I don't care about the cost factor of 'having' to pay for 100 minium, Jim and I don't factor our hall as a per person but rather the whole hall cost. Still, I wanted at LEAST 75. This is gonna be such a sad turn out!

- Our site is on the LIRR
- I have no B list, My A list doesnt have 100
- Currently list 50 people who I know Im not wasting an invite on.
- Currently show less than 80 total invites regardless of waste.
- With a 20% no show rate I'm still pretty low.

I know im gonna have a good time, but I always sorta wanted people THERE it sucks to just have no one show.

I'll be there,...:) There is no way you will have a wedding that you aren't excited about. You have made friends on liweddings...and that counts !!! Don't feel down, people change their minds....maybe your MIL is just exaggerating to bother you guys, she could be spiteful.

There's always the chance that people will stop being buttheads and come to your wedding to be there on your day.

I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. I've been so preoccupied worrying about too many people coming that i didnt think of the opposite situation.

I'm so sorry to hear this!! I wish you lots of luck!! Have you thought of inviting co-workers you are friendly with? Are there any friends of yours or FH's that you haven't considered?

Anyway, I think you may be surprised by the turnout.

My Texas Gal Pal, I will be more than happy to go to your wedding. Maybe consider a bus to take his relatives or friends to and from. Maybe they are concerned about transportation.
