See, I always thought that people with higher educations tend to vote Republican. Now I'm confused...

I think that's the standard statistic...at least that's what I was taught in my public opinion class, which I took a year ago. But I'm guessing the polls showed something different this year?

Re: OK for Kerry supporters, you will like to see this...

I have heard the saying that everyone is a Democrat in college and a Republican when you start collecting a paycheck.

Then how does that explain Democrats in Hollywood - many actors never even attended college ??!! Ya gotta admit - its pretty scary when Ashton Kucher is telling you how to vote.

By the way, I have a BA and 12 credits towards a Masters and voted Republican so

The way I see it, is it depends on how you view yourself in the world.. if you think that at the end of the day-it's your wallet and checking account, then you'd probably vote Republican.

But if you more socially aware, then democratic i guess

And you cant be both socially aware and care about your wallet??? As I said in a previous thread, I don't think raising taxes and letting govt choose which social causes they are going to fund is the answer. We are taxed enough - there are other ways to being socially aware - like donating time and $ to a specific cause that interests you not letting the govt take your money and decide for you.

I think people with higher education vote for Kerry because they're more informed about the facts. Some people who vote for Bush do not know all the facts, and may vote for Bush just because they support the war and not give a crap about gays' or women's rights.

I just want to say that I am one of those actors who never attended college (well, I went for 3 semesters). I can assure you that just because I do not have a diploma does not mean that I am uninformed or uneducated. I just chose to look outside the box for my source of education. As far as Ashton Kucher goes, last I checked he was an American and has a right to voice his opinion like everyone else.

Some people have a little bit of both republican and democratic in them and

A. Are highly informed..more than most especially in the political arena

B. May actually agree with some of Bush's views..not everyone is a liberal. Or as liberal as others..

C. Some can actually agree with some of Kerry's views too.
