It's something they usually have at your shower. Sometimes they make them to look like a well, but there have been other things you can use too. Everyone brings gifts and then they usually bring something lil to put in the wishing well. Those things don't say who they're from, it's just a lot of small stuff that you'll need but isn't enough to make into an actual gift.
For instance, someone may give you a salad tosser as a gift. And then throw salad tongs into the wishing well to go with it. HTH!!

You can also have a themed wishing well, to give people ideas for what to buy for it.
I think she means the bridal shower wishing well which usually gets packed with spatulas, oven mitts, and things of that nature.
In lieu of a wishing well at my shower, my MOH did a panty pot for me. So, instead of getting a bunch of items I don't know how to use (ie baking supplies ) I got about 45 pairs of new sexy underwear.

Sometimes, but generally no. There's a lot of stuff in there and usually it's a pain to have to unwrap the little things.
