Ok, got my puggle

I picked up my puggle today she is so cute. I just dont want to regret it. Did you guys at first feel weird like 'oh man now I have a responsibility' I knew what was to come but now that its actually here im nervous about the dog thing. I always had a dog my whole life with my parents but they did everything. Now im just with my FI. Was it really hard for you guys and how long did it take for them to be potty trained.

Any advice would be very helpful.

Here is pics of Missy.

It def. is an adjustment. It's like having a kid. When me and FH are out we have come home MANY times to feed her, or let her out to pee. Or when she's sick we've taken off of work to go to the vet. The beginning is tough but it does getter better. It us about a month to potty train her but she was already 6 months old by then.

ETA: OMG...how did I forget to tell you she's adorable. Whatta mug!

She is TOOOOO CUTE!

I was in the same situation as you! Always had a dog at my parents but its so different knowing I am responsible for her growing up to be a good dog!

We were lucky, we got Lucy at about 12 weeks and within 2-3 weeks she wasnt having regular accidents in the house! and we leave her for about 10 hours a day. I would say she was 4 months before we felt comfortalbe that we would not come home to any 'mess'.

Good Luck and ENJOY!
The initial shock does wear off! And you fall in love with having a pet around again!

Re: Ok, got my puggle

OMG!!!!!!!! She is Beautiful!!!! Congratulations!!! Bella started going on the wee wee pads about two weeks after we got her, so she was about 9 1/2 weeks old... Sometimes she would stand on the pad, but aim the wrong way and miss I knew she was trying though. You'll know when they have to go poopies too, their butts start puckering a little!!! I know it sounds strange, but look for it, and it will help you get them to the pads quickly... I also had dogs all my life and when FH and I moved in together I wanted one so bad. So 2 years later, he suprised me! Yes, it's an adjustment but I wouldn't change things for the world.. I love her to death, I love watching her sleep and play, and when she curls up next to me I get all warm fuzzy feelings!!!!!! You will NEVER regret it!!!!!

Congrats on your new baby she is precious

Yes, when we first got Casey I had a panic attack, like what did I do! But trust me, the beginning is hard but it is well worth it!

OK your Missy is probably one of the most adorable pups I've ever seen

Good Luck with her I know its a lot of responsibility and hard work, but the rewards of having a new member of your family is SO worth it

It is a BIG adjustment. I didn't realize how hard it would be. The best thing I ever did was enroll her in a puppy kindergarten class. It is basic obideince and socialization. She loves it and I got some great pointers. House breaking took several months but Daisy was sick in the begining. Good luck. You will do fine.

Re: Ok, got my puggle

first let me say, missy is so cute! i love puggles.

having a dog is definitely an adjustment. there were times during the first month or so that i wondered what did we get ourselves into. especially the first few days, when winnie was peeing and pooing all over the place and she would cry so much at night. but now, i can't imagine life without her. taking care of a dog is work, but it's so rewarding when you come home from work and get greeted by a jumpy licky dog who is so excited to see you. i think it took winnie about 3 months to get potty trained.

good luck!

How much does Layla weigh and will she get any bigger? I was told that they get like 20 pounds. I didnt get her from a breeder. I got her from Canine Corral. I heard not so good things about the place but i fell in love with her right away and so did my FI so i had to bring her home. Anyway, Im taking her to the vet on Saturday for her initial check up. I hope everything is alright. Did you get Layla from a breeder??? if so, which one?
