Because we have a smaller party ( we could only guarentee 100), a lot of places will not do an evening party for us. Maureen at the Woodlands asked us what we thought of a Monday, and I wouldn't think of it. We chose Thursday because supposedly its the new Friday, since Friday got so expensive. Price really wasn't a problem when picking our place, it was more so that we couldn't reach minimums.

I wanted to do it on a monday but the family objected. CLM told me it was the same price to have it the sunday prior because its a holiday so i did that instead.

I guess if you have a min amount of people and want that particular place you would have to make it a weekday... or the price is that good.

it's a lot cheaper.
one of the RH that I visited, tried to work with my budget and asked me if I would consider doing it during the week days, he said a silly day like Wednesday

How funny!! My boss and I were just talking about a wedding he has next monday night!!

We were saying how weird it was to have a wedding on a regular Monday night (and what a discount they must have gotten...)

I think it's not very nice to say it's silly or strange or weird b/c some brides ARE having their wedding during the weekday for whatever reason and seeing these comments are probably hurting their feelings or making them second-guess their decision..... I'm not pointing fingers or anything so please don't think I am - I just remember Tilde posting about people saying negative things about her RH and how it hurt her feelings...

wether it's nice or not, it's still people's opinion.
people should not plan their big day around what others say. If you're happy with your decision and the people who cares for you are happy, you could just say that others are just jealous because they can't get their loved ones to come out on a Monday to help them celebrate and have to spend a lot of money just to please them.

Actually a lot of religious jewish people will get married on a monday because friday night and most of saturday is out for them since they are observing the sabbath

I saw one on a Wednesday once! I was getting my taxes done and there was a church next door and all of the sudden the guest came out and the bride and groom etc.. during the day too! I was surprised.

You are SOOOOO right, especially when it is a religious reason or tradition
When people grow up with something done a certain way it is not weird or strange to them

Have you looked into Taven on the Green? It's very expensive...and from what I've heard the food is not worth the money...

Flipside, it's gorgeous and super romantic (we had dinner there the night of our engagement!! )
