Ok here we go again!

Ok here we go again!

A few months back I posted about my MOH (my sister) giving me a hard time about her dress. She was very difficult from the beginning (I won't do this, I won't do that). My BMs are wearing Navy......my sister bought herself a black dress. OK...I know this is not the ideal situation, BUT now she is telling me she feels comfortable in this dress...it's probably the only option. She is leaving it up to me 1) she wears the black dress 2) she plays a different role in my wedding.

The black dress now becomes so unimportant! She's my sister! I know she is being difficult....but she's still my sister!
My Mom is so upset about the black dress...she hates it!

This is so silly!!!

Thanks for letting me vent!

ETA: My BM's are going to wear Alfred Angelo separates (Top styles 6501 and 6804) in Navy Blue. MOH found the following dress at Lord and Taylor in BLACK.

She is YOUR sister, but SHE is behaving like an ***. It is YOUR wedding and SHE needs to do what YOU wish at this point. I would drop here from the wedding because SHE obviously does not give a damn what YOU want. How selfish of her.

I gotta disagree with fashionhag....I will tell you why!

I don't think the black dress should be means for you to change her role or throw her out. My sister is in the army and she unfortunately can NOT be part of the wedding and I would give anything to have her be part of it....I don't care if she wore a lime green dress...just to have her be my MOH! I am not even exagerrating. If she feels comfortable in it...seriously just let her be. JMO from my personal situation.

Is it the color or the dress that she so abhors?? Navy is a pretty non-offensive color so I'd assume it's the dress. In that case, can't you just get her a different dress but make sure it's navy so it sort of goes? As the MOH she doesn't have to wear the exact same thing as the BM's but it also shouldn't look like a guest just wandered down the aisle in front of you.

I know she is your sister but she is really behaving very immaturely. This is ridiculous - it's your wedding not hers. If it was me I'd day I would put my foot down but I know it's easier to say than do.

I hope it all works out for you!

i would speak to your sister about why she doesnt want to wear the dress. it is your wedding, but she is also your sister. can you have a sitdown with her about it? is it possible she doenst like the style of the dress? if so, how about getting her a different style dress? is it the color? perhaps you can find a color that compliments navy?

Flaca, it's not about the dress. My problem is that this person doesn't seem to care about her sister's wishes on her wedding day. It's one day. If her sister loved her like a sister should, in my opinion, she would at least buy a dress the same color, even if it were a different style. This is a wedding, not the friggin circus and she can't go choosing to do or wear whatever she want's. That is so unfair to the bride and the rest of the bridal party. She is being a selfish person. And I personally wouldn't want someone in my wedding that wasn't thinking about what makes me happy instead of thinking about themselves.

I understand you totally and I would be pretty ticked as well but I think I would let it go. Just for my sister. I don't know....just because of my personal situation. I also think that she should be doing the opposite of what she is doing just because she is her sister as well.

Well, if my best friend (who is the closest thing to a sister that I have) asked me be in her wedding and I had to wear neon pink chiffon with a green cowboy hat and bright orange clown shoes, I would do it because it's what she wants.

I guessd that I am pissed off just because her sister isn't thinking of her feelings at all af that's not how sisters should act.

Re: Ok here we go again!

My sister did the same thing....
Because she the MOH, she has to look special and she should look different.
I picked the color and let the girls pick their own dress which I thought was pretty open minded on my part. First she argues about the color...which is ki8nd of funny becasue it looked the best on her than nyone else in the group. Then she picked out a dress that was a little too revealing and then she picked out a dress in a totally different color...ivory!!!
Hello I'm wearing ivory!!!!!

She's finally found a dress she likes in a color that I like.
Then we went for the flowers. 'As the MOH, my bouquet should be special...''
