I just get a call from Geico- As of May they wont be taking my payment out of my credit card anymore (which is a Geico Credit Card). But now if I send in a payment by check or online they will charge me $4 processing fee and if they take it directly out of my checking account there will be a $1 processing fee. WTH??? Is this something new? When you pay a bill they are going to charge a processing fee??

What?? So your only option is to pay a processing fee? I would definitely speak to someone and complain - threaten to take your business elsewhere and they'll probably waive the fee.

Thats what it seems like! Well they just made up my mind for me- I was thinking of going under FH policy when we get married and now I know I will!

Ugh. I work for Geico. Sorry about that. I don't work for service, I work in litigation. If you have it taken directly taken out of your checking account there is no fee.

I dont get it then- why did she tell me if it comes out of my account there will be a $1 fee?

I work at GEICO as well
The way it works is this...
there is a 4 dollar installment fee per payment if you pay through cc
If you pay through eft through your check= you will be charged the 1 dollar installement fee instead of the 4-
The only way to get away with no installment fees is if you pay the premium in full
Most insurance companies charge installment fees..
