I need your help... ok we went to see our florist today belle fleur in the city..FH and spent over 3 hours before we came up with what we liked... The florist was unable to give us a quote at that moment because he wanted to get the right price for the peonies because they will be flown in..but by the time I got home he already emailed the quote. Well ladies my flowers are going to cost me
over 8K I love my florist and I love his work I want to spend this money but FH is not having it.. He said no more than 5K.. Our wedding budget has tripled...but I want my flowers... Please tell me that I am not losing my mind spending that kind of money

yea - i totally agree. what else are u getting?? 8k is a really REALLY high price. but it'll help us out if u tell us what else is included.

ok this is what we are getting 25 centerpieces like in the pictures that i posted.. with the crystals it will have more peonies ok I have two bo-k one with all stepanotis (i know i am not spelling it right) with crsytals my other one is with 3 dozens roses and peonies I have 6 bridesmaids peonies and roses 1 flower girl 10 dozens roses for the cake an arch with peonies and roses he said it will have about 60 dozens roses lots of rose petals for the tables the crsytal vase you saw in the pictures the guest can keep they are not going to be rented ceremony flowers for the church I don't know how much but lots of roses flowers for parents
6 trees with hanging crystals for the reception and ooh groomens but...

If you're willing to travel to the Bronx, my FH's is has a flower shop in the Throggs Neck/Pelham Bay area and he's very reliable...FM me for more info

Belle Fleur is really high end, their work is stunning :). But remember the cost is based on both materials (flowers, vases, crystals) AND labor, so the more manhours it takes to assemble, the more $$$. So applying the crystals, bo-k wrapping, constructing arches, etc drive up the total. You should run the same list by another florist for comparison, and/or see what Belle Fleur would recommend to get you closer to budget. My flower estimate came in 2K over what I wanted to spend, I let the florist know and he made a few edits to bring it down. The sacrifices were minimal and I loved that he worked with my budget! Good luck!

I agree. You were quoted a high price, but in all honesty, the scope of your job is quite large--the arch, peonies out of season, high centerpieces. Check elsewhere, but be prepared to make modifications to fit into your budget. Making choices is something we all have to do.

okay, from my point of view, you're insane. i'd never spend that much on flowers, even if they were made of gold. that's just me though.
If FH set a 5K flower budget, it's not like he's saying you have to have dandelions... There are other flowers that can give you the same look as peonies.

Wow! thats alot of flowers! Honestly, I think that quote sounds pretty good. If you think about it, the flowers are expensive, you're getting many cp, your bo-k is also really expensive plus your getting trees and an arch! If these are really what you want, I don't think you'll find it for much less. If fh really isn't ok with it, see if your flourist can work with you and the arrangements to make them less costly to you.

I know where you can save money use some of the centerpieces for the church.If you are getting married at the catering hall it would be that much easy for the florist to move the flowers. you don't need alot of flowers at the chruch. just two big arrangements to go at the alter and some flowers for the isle. Instead of the 10 dozen roses for the cake. which is really alot of roses!!!!!!!!!!you can tell them to take some of the 60 dozen of roses from the arch and but them on the cake. is the arch just for the church? usually when people have these archs the flowers are only used during the ceremony which is really a waste.

okay so now that u wrote everything ur getting i understand the price lol. i know peonies are breathtaking but the price adds up....what about doing half of ur centerpieces with peonies & the rest with roses??? i've seen variations like that done...it looks beautiful, adds variety, & u'll save some money....also - is there a reason why you're having two bo-k's??? think of NEEDS vs. WANTS...is there a dyer NEED to have 2 bo-ks?? and 10dozen for the cake just sounds like a lot... do u have a picture of the cake u want? maybe we can look at it & think of some creative way to cut down the amount.... i give u credit for doing what u envision....i wanted an archway, PILES of petals for the ceremony and candles everywhere...but in the end it was just going to cost way too much..and in all honesty - our wedding was still gorgous & breathtaking and EVERYONE still talks about it. There are ways to do what u want, but cut down costs....i would go to another budget friendly florist, show them your ideas, but ask what changes they can do (while still keeping the same 'look') to get the price down...we all had to make some decisions & stick to certain budgets...otherwise either a) our weddings would've never happened b) we'd have been stressing over how to pay for it c) went into debt from having a celebrity wedding with regular income lol. i know it's hard - but we can help & if u find a budget friendly florist they can help too! there are so many florists who do BEAUTIFUL work.

Holy flowers batman! I think that for $8k that's not to bad. 120 roses for the cake?? 3 DOZEN roses and peony's?? Wow I hope you work out becasue that will be 1 HEAVY bo-k! If this is what your spending on flowers and this is what you want/need it must be a pretty elaborate wedding. I would look around, but you're asking for A LOT of flowers so this is pretty competative

ok, yes you are getting alot of flowers so of course its going to be expensive. Peonies are out of season in september so you are also taking a kick in the @SS on those. But I would shop around, at this point you know what you want and I would see if someone else is giving the same thing for less. I understand that they may do beautiful work but it seems like you are paying alot extra for what you are getting and using them in particular. 8k is ALOT
ETA: The crystal stuff you are getting is real crystal? If so that is why your price is high also. I would definitely rething 2 boks, you will only use it or hold it for the church and pictures, after that it sits on a table.

8K for that amount of flowers. That sound right to me. I know that Peonies arent in season in sept but maybe there is another flower that looks similiar that you could get that may be cheaper. Flowers are important but the florist should be able to give you options. Good Luck

Even though bella fleur seems to be on the higher end of prices...i dont think that quote is that far off based on the amount of flowers and types of flowers you want and all the labor.
If you want to cut costs, perhaps use the out of season flowers in just your bok and find something in season that can capture the same look. or maybe have high and low cps if u want to keep the peonies etc.
