I need your help... ok we went to see our florist today belle fleur in the city..FH and spent over 3 hours before we came up with what we liked... The florist was unable to give us a quote at that moment because he wanted to get the right price for the peonies because they will be flown in..but by the time I got home he already emailed the quote. Well ladies my flowers are going to cost me
over 8K I love my florist and I love his work I want to spend this money but FH is not having it.. He said no more than 5K.. Our wedding budget has tripled...but I want my flowers... Please tell me that I am not losing my mind spending that kind of money

I spent a Buttload on FLowers for my wedding. If I were to do it again that would be the thing I cut back on. I would get the BoK you want because that ends up in pictures but The centerpieces Die and I would just rethink them. Less peonies and more flowers that are less expensive. Why dont you go to a bunch of places and get different quotes. JMO Having done it and looking back....Splurge on something else, Flowers are not worth it. Hope it works out for you! This is just My opinion of course.

Belle Fleur is high end and does beautiful work. you see their stuff in all the magazines but unfortunately you have to pay the price to work with them. i also went to one high end florist and they quoted me about 8K as well. I went to a number of other florists and got the exact same thing for less than half. in my opinion you are paying for the name here. If you have the money, go for it, but if you want to save...you can definetely get the same idea and look and flowers for less.

ok well, I used to be the same way I wasnted EVERYTHING and I wanted it to be perfect... crystals roses custom tableclothes and napking to match, like the weddings on tv. When we actually started looking and pricing thing up everysthing adds up and reality set in. you dont NEED everything!! 8K to spen on flowers is crazy I think that 5k -6k is def more then enough thats prob where I will end up. in my opionion you def dont NEED 2 bo-k's pick one that you really love and use it, why two? maybe use less of the peonies and more of a less expensive flower and they will still look more then amazing! I also liked the idea that someone mentioned re-using the flowers in the ceremony arch for the cake, 3 dozen roses on a cake is insane!! is the whole cake goign to be cover in roses? remember sometimes LESS is MORE....I think that is too many roses for a cake. and instead of getting lots of roses for the parents get a smaller amount. You have 25 centerpieces so its still goignt o be expensive but maybe you can do some lower centerpeices, that actually looks reall nice, sometimes nicer then all high ones. There is alot that you can do to cut back and lower the pricei know you want everything but you dont need it

There must be a way for you to have your vision for a lower price tag but on the other hand I kind of understand why they would cost some much. Peonies are very pricey but gorgeous and the amount of labor needed for your job would probably be very costly

Steph, will you please make sure you fm me and letme know what you florist says about getting peonies?? I used Burtons for my flowers and my DREAM bo-k was peonies...i gave them a pictureof it months before the wedding and it wasnt untill our final appt 1 wk before the wedding that they told me peonies are not in season in Sept!!!
Why they never mentioned that before blows my mind but whatever... So Im REALLY curious as to what your florist will say & how much they'll charge you to get them. I wish you better luck than me.

Flower Michele is great. Verbena is Great. When I met with Designs By Rose she told me she can get peonies any time of year. Belle Fleur is a brand name florist and you pay for it. You can achieve the same look. My girlfriend paid 10k for her flowers and honestly, I've seen just as beautiful flowers for 5k!
You can achieve that look, just shop around and meet with florists. They may not have the fanciests showrooms but their work is spectacular. Another florist you should look into in NYC is http://www.bigappleflorist.com/
Not the best website but I've used them MANY times for work ( I work in the entertainment industry) and their work is impeccable. Their designers are SO creative and their prices cannot be beat. Seriously, call them!

We talked to the florist again and he brought the price down for us and he added more flowers (like I needed more ) But anyhow I am happy with belle fleur, when I was planning the last time I did all the foot work with most of the florist and I was quoted something close to what I am getting now so I will just have to cut cost someplace else.
Anyway he brought done the price to 7200 I know it is not much of a difference but I am ok with it.. FH is ok with it too he said that as long as I am happy he is happy with it too.

Glad everything worked out in the end!! FH is right, as long as you are happy with it- that's all that matters!
